Watches & Wonders 2024: Rolex Day Date Perpetual Calendar?

Hey guys,

I've seen a lot of analyses of the teaser video for W&W24 and the most interesting commentary I've seen is regarding a new flagship classic model: the perpetual calendar.

Makes sense since it's been, what, like 12 years since a new model (the annual calendar). Also makes sense why the video says iconic meets unexpected and shows a lot of what seem to be skydweller and daydate models, their classic complications.

The second shot where they show the fluted bezel and dial shows that the dial is definitely not a daydate (no day window under 12 o'clock) but also not a skydweller (no triangle there), but something blurry does seem to be there so maybe a subdial of a perpetual calendar? And the last shot of the daydate on the woman's wrist shows the left side of the case curves to a point, as if there's a pusher or some sort of button there to operate the complication. The watch looks damn slim on the wrist so not a skydweller case. Maybe a daydate case with a pusher on the left to operate a complication?

Some say it's a skydweller with perpetual calendar and a president bracelet. Some say it's a day date with perpetual calendar and it is full gold Jubilee. I even heard someone say it's a new model above the skydweller that has bracelet options of full gold Jubilee, president and masterpiece bracelets.

All very interesting stuff and peaking my interest because I have been holding out for my first gold Rolex and a perpetual calendar would definitely take my money.

Very curious to hear any other thoughts, analyses or predictions about specifically the rumors of a perpetual calendar release at A&W24.

there is a trademark they filed about 1.5 years ago, for Master Day Date and also Master datejust.

I really hope it’s something in this wheelhouse. Would have so much potential and we need something fresh.

Not sure how to read the trademark, can you tell us what exactly they trademarked and what it could mean (in your humble opinion)?

In the video it looks like the bezel with the diamonds is rotating, maybe same tech as skydweller but different model.

My dream for a while has been a perpetual (or even annual) calendar Day-Date. Fingers crossed!

The skydweller in PM has always been underserved by the oyster bracelet. It never looked right on the skydweller. The entire reason I never bought one was because the PM version only comes on oyster.

theres nothing to really read ... its just a trademark aka a word or phrase they want to own. they have many but this was seems interesting and more recent.

Yes, so true, but I could not resist regardless and bought one on an Oyster.
I even considered buying a DD and than modify the President bracelet to fit the SkyD.
In the end of the day that was a bit too expensive for me so I hang on to the Oyster.

44mm beefed up Oyster case, rotating bezel which has ROLEX QUANTIÈME written in big letters across the bottom of it.

But that lost shot in the teaser (woman's wrist with sun glare) shows the watch has quite a slim profile, slimmer than the current SkyDweller case for sure.

How do you know that’s the one?

I think the day date IS a day date, with its proper bracelet, maybe just the new one recently advertised with smoke black dial.
And the Sky Quantieme Dweller is just the one on a jubilee ?
The teaser is just fooling us with successions of elements that don't necessarily match together.

I'm surprised they didn't also include a version of the old "Date" model when trademarking that new moniker. Oh, wait, that might sound like...
