I had a turtle that I regulated...

Basically, I checked the daily rate over like a week

Then opened the caseback, used a toothpick to regulate, closed it and tried it again

I did it over and over until I got it to be within cosc (or better)

Takes a while but is enjoyable and worth it

Hey Dan!

Does your turtle still have the original movement in it ?

Or did you do a movement mod?

You need 10 posts to insert a link to a photo.

You can upload a photo first post after a possible slight delay.

Thanks Jesus,

That’s what I intended to do as well, as a project. But having issues opening the case back.

Sending it for someone to Patina? Seriously? I mean its interesting that people love the look of patina, but dont want to do anything to actually develop patina. Wear your watches folks and the Patina will come.

Seiko (skx007) was my first mechanical watch. Prior to this I had 2 quartz (kinetic) watches from Seiko.

Currently I own few mechanical models, including Monster, Turtle and one Grand Seiko I’ve recently added to collection

I love my SKX013, but it’s accuracy isn’t great compared to my other watches. What’s the best way to go about modding a Sieko?

Arise Necro Post

I have a Seiko Nemo turtle diver coming from Gnomon in the next week. This is the SBDY023. It is the Japan Market Version. with the Kanji day wheel

They made a Asian Market version that has ether Chinese/Eng or Eng/Span or Eng/ Roman Numeral day wheels but I figure I might as well have a Japan market one with the Kanji date wheel because it is different then the other Turtles out there.

I am borrowing a pic from the seller since I will not see it from them till the end of this week. In real life this is a more brighter then the pic shows.

I also have what could be the ultimate watch for somebody that only wants to have one watch and never have to set it. I have a 3rd generation Astron SSH021. This is a cushion cased watch that is similar looking and wearing to the Turtle divers (despite it having specs that show it to be a large watch, it wear well with any size arm). It is solar and GPS time sync so it never has to be touched (unless you need to set the 2nd time zone) as long as it gets some light from time to time and also periodically gets the GPS signal

I have an SRP777 and I love it. I had it regulated and its very accurate. Great size, lume and wrist presence, especially on a waffle strap. It just oozes cool. My Sub and GMT were used as “beaters” until the prices skyrocketed. Seikos just make sense for beater duty.

I did the same with my "Turtle Save the Ocean" but with the aid of a timegrapher. It's now plus two seconds or better. Great watches and wear much smaller than their size suggests.

Congrats, It looks awesome! I picked up an SPB149 and really dig it as well. I’m pretty sure its going to be my daily go to. I’d post a pic but it’s to much of a PITA with the size limitations. So close your eyes and imagine an explosion of sunburst blue emanating from a ruggedly handsome yet elegantly chamfered case, that feels like liquid smoke on the wrist (or you can go to Dualcarbs thread-on the 149 and see mine in living color, just bring your binos cuz I’m a caveman with IT).
