16710 example - feedback on condition

Hi all - would like to get feedback on the condition of this 16710. It's a Y serial from 2004 with solid end links and lug holes.

I think the dial and bezel insert look pretty good, but am curious about the lugs (thickness, etc.)

I've noticed some 16710s have pretty chamfered edges; did that change a lot through the model's run?

Watch looks fine to me by those pics.
Sometimes the large chamfers are added during a service.

Chamfers became much smaller with the no-holes cases - introduced around late 2003.

As far as how the depicted GMT II looks, it seems to be a nice example based on the photos.

Looks fine to me. Photographer was just using a light box.

I was wondering about this. When they use a light box, does it obscure the detail of the watch? Or is it a perfectly reasonable way to show the watch's condition.

Unfortunately, it's a fairly common "technique" to overexpose (and/or crank up the brightness in PS), which can hide flaws. The light-box may contribute to this, but it's something that can easily be addressed with properly dialing in the exposure/flash/aperture settings for a given set-up. With the current technology of digital photography (instant results), there really is no excuse for poorly executed pics, especially from a high-volume dealer with an online storefront.

Just my $0.02.

I would want to see some photos taken in natural light if I'm trying to assess actual condition.
