International $10k + Purchase with Paypal?

I found someone with no references selling a nice vintage piece at a decent price. He only accepts paypal. NO REFERENCES. He's located in Mexico and I'm in the US.

Would I be covered if I sent $10k+ for a watch and he sends me a rock? I know I'd be good in the US, but what about international? How long could money be held up if this didn't pan out? Any chance I wouldn't get my money back?

Depends if you have the time to spare to go through the hassle of processing the refund. Whatever you do pay with a credit card through PP. Have it shipped to a mail center and open package in presence off employee while filming. You'll be good if you get that rock.

That's good advice. I'm debating. He's already gone a bit quiet on me. Doesn't feel great.

Trust your senses. Always buy the seller and this one your already questioning. It would be a pass for me.

Thanks. I'm asking for more detailed shots and the seller has gone quiet. I'm not getting emotional or sucked into this. Keeping my cool for now. If I get a lot of info and good pics I may proceed with the credit card and PayPal route. Otherwise, I'll be passing.

Why not contact PAYPAL to check out the seller (long standing v new)

Have you googled the name?

The” doesn’t feel great”, is an answer to your question, hell even 10$ is a lot when it doesnt feel great, let a lone 10k ...why risk it?

I would be more apprehensive if he DIDN'T accept paypal and wanted a wire.
Have you researched your seller ? Did you get the memo about the new TPS reports ?
