I have never been good at those either, they seem to short circuit what there is of a brain in me

Here is mine:

As time passes by, the gift of being is taken for granted. Circulating through the veins, pausing a pump, for fear there will once be no life. Do not fear the failure of the fountain pen, as this is only temporarily corrected by a refill and joy of another life.

Absolutely great entries!

Thank you my friends for these fine convincing examples; as Dave said 'I wouldn't want to be the judge on this one' ...

...So I won't. I took the entries to a bunch of work mates that have never used a fountain pen and asked them which post got them most interested in fountain pens. As this was the original premise of this third giveaway, I thought it best.

Winner of the third of seven Oriental pen rugs is:

Faith - Taffy Abernathy

for best convincing reason to write with a fountain pen.

Honorable mention for BEST LINKAGE TO WATCHES:

Dave - Daveathall

Congratulations, Faith! Well deserved for an excellent entry!

Congrats to all for the great entries. Really good stuff and interesting seeing everyone's thoughts on this topic.

Just a note to all, I received my pen rug from Chris today, and can tell you the pictures don't begin to do them justice (no disrespect to your photography, Chris.) High quality and the colors are truly vibrant.

Thanks, Chris, and look forward to the next Giveaway.
