It has a 48 hour power reserve, so I would say every other day at least but more likely daily.

Nature of the beast with that little crown. You get use to it.

It is what it is, yes it has its character but not really an issue. I have automatics and battery supported quartz watches, each is what it is.

I love manual wound watches but the speedy is an exception. Had it twice and sold both. Winding it is definitely not fun.
Unlike my Pam 233, love winding that beauty, even if it takes longer, once a week.

Got mine at the end of January and half thinking about selling it now the winding is not fun at all. This is why it has been worn twice and sat in the safe since.... lovely watch looks great on whatever strap just the winding is painful.

Am I the only one that got used to it after a few months and can wind it no problem? I just place the index finger behind the crown (perhaps you can call it 1/2 way down from the top, or as close to the top from behind as the lug allows) and wind away with ease.
Having said that, this is/was my first manual wind watch (have had it since 2011) so I just assumed that they were all like this. *shrug*

I use my 233 as a pre-Speedy work out

Why do you guys say the 233 takes long to wind? I’ve never owned one, so I’m curious.

Because is an 8 day movement and takes a lot of winds to be fully wound.

Can’t say that I’ve had the same experience, I wind mine every day and never have any issues, in fact I look forward to winding it as part of my daily routine.

I have a 69 pre moon Speedy and a newer one. I believe the newer ones have smaller crowns. The 69 is easy to wind but the newer speedy is tough. I bought a wind extension, but it did not help.

Try on the ones without the crown guard such as the FOIS, CK2998 or 1957 trilogy then you’ll know where the problem is.

Yes I find it hard and not so smooth to wind. More a chore than pleasure.

Wearing my Zenith HW these days. Winds like butter. A pleasure.

Pre-moon 321s are smoother/easier to wind than the 1861 based speedy pros. That said, the design of the crown does matter. Winding the Speedy Tuesday 1 is easier than the standard Speedy Pro. Winding the DSOM Apollo 8 is a very pleasant experience as it has a crown that protrudes more.
