6155/6105

There is a Rolex I am thinking about purchasing for my husband but am wanting to do some research and am hoping someone can help. The watch I am looking at is stamped 6155/6105 and crossed out. I was told the watch is all original. Is this normal to have a model number crossed out and restamped. I was told it is from either 1953 or 1963. Any information is greatly appreciated!

It is very normal. A lot of watch models used the same mid case. You are aware that it is a very small watch correct?

I have a 6305 very much like this one, from 1955.

Its serial number is 85 thousand.

'55 was the first year the DateJust got the cyclops.

The one you're showing, Madame, must be earlier.

I saw 6155 listed as 36mm, is that correct?
