I think I have a "magnetized" watch.

My 1967 Omega Constellation Chrono was running about 2 to 3 seconds slow a day. Did this for over a month.

I wear it some not as much as my 6694, and do get it near computers, TV. highspeed internet etc. But suddenly it started running super fast.

It is flying now, fast isn't the word. It gained an hour yesterday.

I don't have a demagnetizer, but would like to know the process to demagnetize a watch. I'm pretty sure that's what the problem is.

Get yourself one of these ...

You know there are other stuff that can do that, especially on an older watch.

A slipped spring regulator on the drive train can reduce spring pull too low to hold the balance back and it will run fast..

The escape wheel may have a broken tooth causing you to pick up extra seconds every ~15 or so..

Stuff could be worn out on the balance shaft causing wobble and allowing the pallet to flutter back and forth on the roller jewel at a higher frequency and it will run faster..

Maybe you should take it to a friendly watchmaker and have him look at it....

I don't believe that the problem is magnetism. You would have to expose your watch to VERY strong magnetic fields to magnetise the movement, and PC, telli and the like just don't have strong enough magnetic fields to do any harm to your watch.....unless you rest your watch every night right on top of the PC, telli or whatever electric appliances you have??
