Thanks, Karis....and while you're about it, take a long, hard look at this cracker with a champagne MOP dial!!

I actually am not crazy about champagne dials. Looks better on other people!

I tried on the white dial TT Daytona today! Stunning, but I'm not sure the gold goes too well with my jewelry which is pretty much platinum/white gold.

I would REALLY love to try the white dial all stainless model, but of course I know it's tough to find!

the majority of rolex watches have a black dial. Why not purchasing something different? Actually i believe that the white dial is more easy to read

I agree - the Daytona IMHO is not the best looking chronograph out there but the appeal is in the hype

Having said that - white dial looks cleaner, easier to read but when I tried both on at a 2nd hand dealer - black looks classier even though u can't read the time The dealer did say white more popular in US / Europe and black more popular in Asia / Australia - they would pay a little more for a black dial.

By the way - i did manage to order one through AD for RRP Ahh - now the wait.
White was my 1st choice but ended up with a black dial.

I have to agree, I had lunch with lingerie model Caprice 2 weeks ago... yeah... I know !! anyway, she was wearing a white face Daytona (white gold)... looked really cool on a womens arm... the regular 40mm that is.

I myself have a new GMT Master II (SS)... I am mad about it, it by far the bext Rolex I have ever owned or seen, the ceramic bezel is beautiful and I love the overall feel and weight of the watch... a perfect Rolex in my opinion.

The only thing that takes some getting used to is the small scratches that appear on the polished center links of the bracelet... I think I'll just manage it over time with Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloths... if you use them carefully, they are awesome

Cheers

My first rolex

I purchased my first Rolex today. I was trading up from a Cartier Roadster and wanted something fantastic.

I settled! on the SS daytona, black.

Check me out.

I'd take either one, but the White to me is stunning. Also I have some other black dial Rolex, so this is a nice change.

Love your's Bo!

Oh wait. I have the same one.

I've seen both. Both are great, but for my eyesight, the white dial was much easier to read.
Have a chance to grab a white one now.
Not 100% I really want one in the collection though.

If you have a chance at MSRP, I would definitly do it. I'm on the waiting list for one myself, but I doubt I'll get the call anytime soon.

That were exactly my thoughts, too, Tom

A White Cos would match my black SD perfectly in the sense that I get a totally different look when I change between them.

I told my AD that I would prefer getting the White Cos but that I of course would not reject an offer with the Black Cos.

I think the SS Daytona Black is a very nice watch, both technically and aesthetically.

It would be even more appealing with white subials (a la 6262/3/5/9) but what can you do?

Please do accept my appology for arriving late on this thread ...... er,umm, but important people arrives late !!!!!!

To be (white) or not to be (black) ?.That is the question ..... Hmmm

Black = Darth Vader
White = Han Solo or Luke Skywalker

Black = Exquisite
White = Destinctive

Black = Classy/mysterious
White = Fresh/clean/open

Black = Pics dont do it justice
White = Like in the pics

Black = Scarce
White = Common(Well,relatively)

Black= Republican/Hawk
White = Democrat/Daisy
(Please see the funny side .... )

Both are gorgeous, but the Black SS...

After receiving my new meteorite a few weeks ago, a good friend noticed what I was wearing and told me that he had a Black SS Daytona he no longer wanted in his collection (he has a thing for 47mm Pans).

He wore it only once, and it had all the protective plastics box and goodies intact. Call an ambulance! After I picked myself up off the floor, one thing lead to another and I acquired my second Daytona in less than a month.
