Incoming SBGY013

Just picked up this Grand Seiko SBGY013. It's an Omiwatari but seems to be much less known and popular than the "other" Omiwatari with ice blue dial and leather strap. The 9-link bracelet makes the watch and it's incredibly thin and comfortable. My first GS after many months of agonizing over which one to start with. I decided I wanted a thin dressier and understated piece - somehow that seems to align with my view of a traditional Japanese watch.

As reference, I traded in my Omega CK 859 which, although a killer watch, just wasn't getting much wrist time... (you can kinda see the lugs hanging over the wrist)

Gosh, both of those are stunners.

The Seiko's dial texture is amazing, and I like the no date. Congratulations.

Thank you. Tough decision but I've learned that fit and quality is everything once you get past sheer great looks. Cheers.

Thanks. Deep in the honeymoon. I'm going to do a quick week on the wrist write-up. It just keeps getting better...

Both gorgeous, but the Omega is too large in my opinion. I look forward to trying on that particular GS one day.

Congrats! I've seen the blue Omiwatari at my local AD, and I was blown away by how nice it was. Does the 013 seem more white or silver in person?
