Re-united with Same Watch After 2 1/2 Years

I recently post on another watch forum the story on how I re-purchased a watch (Okega AT, picture below) through Ebay (reputable seller) which used to be mine 2 1/2 years ago (sold it to someone else on the forums, recognized it by serial number).

People commented about the odds of that happening and that made wonder how many had purchased back the exact same watch had, but not from the person you sold it to or tracking it through your buyer, but rather randomly from a different person elsewhere. Would love to hear any similar stories

Here is the watch:

Alton Brown tells a great story about a watch that he inherited from his father. It was stolen while he was in college. The watch had huge sentimental value. He knew exactly what it was (serial #, etc.), and he never stopped looking for it. He found it on eBay 22 years later. Incredible story.

I recognized a 1680 red I used to own on Instagram, but that person (in Europe) ended up selling it and lost track of it again.

I would love to run into my first first Rolex, a SD 16600. I'd buy it back. That is the only one I love to reunite with.

I miss my old SD. Sold it to a trusted seller on here shortly before getting married and have no idea where it would be today. That is definitely the one that got away. I would love to buy it back

always liked the 39mm skyfall, with the framed date window.
this white version looks brilliant, with just the right hints of red.
reminds me of my smp gmt great white.
well done!

Not with bikes, but with motorcycles.

A few years ago, a guy contacted my husband, after purchasing a bike on ebay, a 1991 GSXR750 which had my husband's name engraved on the engine (that's what engine builders used to do to differentiate between engines) and the title was still in his name.

husband told him about the bike and said he'd buy it if the new owner ever decided to sell it.

fast forward, it's back home :)

sent a PM to OP.

Thanks! I had the 39 mm Skyfall before this one:

but flip as had the same thoughts about the white dial (only available AT model with a true white dial; all others are different shades of silver). The small diamond dial markers (not everyone’s favorite) adds a little bling without making it too loud and think looks nice both on steel and leather bands:
