Advice On Datejust Pricing

I was wondering what a good price for a very good condition 1994 18K/SS Datejust White Dial, 16233 would be? Little if any bracelet stretch. It also has original box and papers.

I don't want to get ripped off or over pay as this is my first high quality watch.

I'm having trouble deciding if I want to save a couple thousand and get a used DJ, or get a new one at an AD.

Such frivolous decisions...

Plug the reference into watchrecon.com and look for similar condition with box/papers. This will give you an accurate idea of what the current price range is. Best of luck!!

I paid $4700 for a 16234 without box or papers which seemed to be the going price.

Yup seems to be the norm. Wish I could find a birth year one still on the hunt.

Any input on these bad boys? One is from a private seller. Thank you in advance for any help or input. I like the silver dial look, but prefer when it appears darker, if that makes any sense. Is that strictly due to patina?
