Same reason we don’t see more men wearing the smaller DateJust models I suppose?

Also, even among men the DJ is still by far the most popular model for non WIS customers.

In Hong Kong and Singapore, the Submariner (especially the LV) and GMT models are very very popular with the "ladies".

Funny thing is, I found women wearing men's watch to be slightly intimidating. My wife by far wears my portugueser better than I can. When a women wears a men's watch, it's very very powerful!! Not literally .

1) Because the Datejust design (like the Cartier Tank) hits a timeless, jewelry-fashion sweet spot for looks and versatility that sporto-design Subs/GMTs etc don't. Women don't have hang-ups about their expensive watches being jewelry.

2) Because they don't have hang-ups about expensive watches being jewelry, women don't sit around worrying that their watch/bracelet metal looks "too shiny" or "too blingy" or "too much gold" as if it might ruin an imagined macho image they're trying to convey by wearing a "tool" watch. Women don't sit around imagining they're James Bond.

3) Given #1 and #2, spending $10,000 on brushed, dull, stainless steel wrist jewelry with pointless numbered, rotating-bezels is dumb when one can spend it on something with gold that also goes with everything fashion-wise, including other jewelry that is being worn.

I can't help but think that the common male declarations such as "PCLs are too blingy!" or "Gold-and-steel TT is for retirement homes" when talking about expensive wrist-jewelry watches are actually the notions that can't really be explained. It all starts with being in denial about what a $10,000 watch actually is.

Women are light years ahead of men when it comes to what jewelry is, what it's about, and how/why it's worn. The real question is "Why would women en-masse rush out to start buying SS men's sport watches?". For every occasional woman noticed wearing a Sub or Daytona, there's 20,000 out there wearing DJs, DDs, OPs, Tanks, etc.

If there were a huge demand of women for smaller-sized, numbered-bezel Sub/GMT-designs to fit women's wrists, Rolex would have been making a ton of them over the decades instead of the tons of Lady DJs etc they have. They didn't/don't because they know what moves and what doesn't.
Exactly what I think.

It is also a cultural thing. Middle Easten women love wearing Daytonas. If you go to Singapore or Hong Kong, you will see an extremely high number of women rocking a Hulk (116610LV)... In my part of the world, most women (who are into expensive watches) seem to be all wearing a SS or Everose Datejust.

In Barcelona this summer I saw a lady wearing a Polar Exp ii. She had tiny wrists but I thought it worked very well. I like when I see women wearing men’s sport models. Sometimes my wife will wear my explorer i, but it doesn’t do anything special for her as it does for me.

I’ve seen quite a few women (wife’s friends) with subs. In fact, I think that the sub has surpassed DJ as the preferred fashion watch for women under 40.
My wife also wears my LVc often. (I don’t really wear it much anymore.)

You see a lot of Daytonas on women's wrists, of various metals, PM's being quite popular with the female celebs. The white 116520 I have seen a lot in California, on women. There is something sexy about your gal wearing your watch, but relative to weight, I get why a lot don't.

As a woman, I can’t wait for a 36-37mm Sub or GMT. Size is holding me back. The 37mm YM is perfect

I think they are sexy on ladies. Depends on the lady of course. My wifes daily is a blnr and her favorite alternate is a daytona. She is 5’10” so the size issue isn’t an issue.

They are sized for men not women. I do see quite a few women wearing Daytonas as they wear smaller and they have feminine options in the lineup.

Still, Rolex sports watches are designed for men and are quite masculine. If a woman wants to wear one, then cool. I'd let my fiancee wear any of my watches, and she has, but it doesn't exactly flatter her wrist. Same reason I have no interest in wearing the 28mm diamond bezel/indices Datejust she wears. Well, that's kind of a lie as I did wear it once as a joke to a Cartier store. She wore the Sub and I wore the datejust, the looks were priceless to say the least.

Love wearing 40mm sports Rolex, have been since the late 80s and would not be able to wear anything smaller at this point

Having asked my girlfriend and couple of her friends, they all didn't like the bigger size and the "boring" look of the Sub or GMT.

I don't know if its because they are in their mid to late 20's, but they all wanted gold/diamonds and as much Flash and bling in their watches...

A 40mm supercase is too big and masculine on a woman's wrist IMHO which is the reason why few women wear them I believe.

If however Rolex were to release a 36mm version and perhaps with slimmer lugs, that would be a different story, I think these would sell like hot cakes.

Agree that the woman’s height has a lot to do with whether she can pull off the sub or gmt. When done right it’s pretty sexy I think.
My wife is also around 5’10”, slender and fit...model’s build. (I’m a lucky man lol). While my LVc’s case is a bit large for her 6.25” wrist, her height and physique offset it very nicely. She and her friends are all in their late 20’s and early 30’s and they all seem to gravitate toward wearing the Rolex sub’s and gmt’s.

My girlfriend is 5' 2" and has the wrist of a twig.

When she wraps my Sub around her wrist where half the links need to be removed; it looks beyond goofy.

For the same reason that I don't wear the six digit versions of these watches. They feel too large on me. I guess many don't buy into the oversized Invicta approach to watches.
