Help, information about grandfather's vintage Rolex
Hello everybody, this is my first post here. My wife's family has recently found my wife's grandfathers' Rolex watch. He has passed away a while back and I have been told he bought it in the mid to late 50's. I have not opened the caseback. The watch does have numbers on the case between the lugs but are pretty faded. After looking at similar 50's style crosshair dials from the OP range, I feel like something is not right with the dial on his watch. As far as I know this watch has never been serviced or looked at and just been sitting around for decades. If anyone could help me out with any information about this watch or if the dial is real or a fake one, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for all your help!

At first glance, it looks legit but repainted.

Welcome - can photograph the engraved numbers between both sets of lugs please so we can advise the model. The dial has been repainted as alwatches suggests btw.
