Lamy Lux late incoming!

Kind of a late incoming but incoming none the less! I picked up a Lamy Imporium 14kt gold nib from a gentleman in Greece with plans to put it on a new Lamy Lux in yellow gold anodize. The second I heard Lamy was releasing a yellow gold anodized version of, basically, an Al-Star I knew I had to have one! The standard Lux comes with a steel nib with basic engraving and a black coating. This one looks a little different than the standard Lamy steel nib. Much more luxurious to look at. Writing is about the same. It's a nice nib but a bright gold colored Lamy needs a gold nib in my opinion! The 14kt gold Emporium nib is on par with the nib on a Montegrappa NeroUno I would say. Very nice writer! There's a small strip of yellow gold in the middle of the nib with a nice gloss black coating on the edges but I've been told the entire nib is gold. Not much spring for a gold nib but it's a very nice nib to write with and fits the look of the pen very well. It is a small nib so I suppose you can't expect much spring. Overall well done Lamy! They've done away with the plastic trim and now the clip and finial anodizing matches the pen body. No complaints. I love the pen, steel or gold nib!

"Double anodized" logo as Lamy states it. It looks like a high relief version of the Al-Star logo. Cool none the less!

I love gold!!! I have the pen inked with Diamine golden sands right now that I specifically picked up for this job and it's an absolutely perfect ink for this pen. Shimmering gold ink looks like you're writing in solid yellow gold! Love it!! I would write with it everyday at work if puking gold everywhere you turn was socially acceptable!

Thanks guys! You won't be disappointed by this model. It's like a black tie party version of the Al-star. Not completely ground breaking but a nice, dressed up edition with no detail left unrefined.
