Icon20 This is driving me nuts!!! Vintage watch identification

Hello,

For the past couple months I've been searching everywhere on the web for any information about my Thoresen 17J Automatic.

The most I've been able to discover is that Thoresen was an affiliate of the Orator Watch Co.

I've also found this popular mechanics add:

https://books.google.com/books?id=hS...omatic&f=false

The watch I have is similar to the one in the bottom left of the ad for 29.88.

The reason I am so frustrated is because the watch is missing parts (most obviously the rotor). I would love to restore this watch but in order to do so I need to find out what movement it uses so I can buy a replacement one for parts needed.

It's not an expensive watch but it means a great deal to me to get this sucker working again.

Any information or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Guys!

The back case says Helsa Watch Factory which is the manufacturer.

It seems to be a Baumgartner 92, see here:

Do you have any idea where one might find this movement for parts?

I emailed the guys over at ranfft and they don't have one.

Google and fleabay have not produced anything either...

I have no idea. I was just intrigued by your question, googled helsa watch automatic movement and got lucky.
