Best classic / simple looking Rolex
I have ceramic Daytona, Sub, explorer 36mm, OP 369 dial, but for some reason the best looking watch in my whole collection and the one I find myself staring at the most is my datejust.
It’s the deep blue dial, smooth bezel and jubilee strap. The cute new lugs enhance the roundness of the watch face and overall this is by far the best looking Rolex in my collection. What do you guys think? https://www.rolex.com/watches/dateju...6200-0005.html I would upload some pics but I find this whole reducing the file size long winded, can’t believe we are still doing this is 2020! |

And it’s ironic because I’ve always disliked the DJ, because of the fluted bezels and it’s horrid 41mm size.
Since my Eyes have adjusted to 36mm because of my explorer 1, I find 39 and above too big and not proportionate. I find 36mm is optimum For the Wrist and also for the spacing on the dial. |

I vote for the Milgauss. While I love a good DJ 36 in blue, it just feels a little too small for me. I had one for awhile and many commented that it looked more like a high-end jewelry bracelet on the jubilee (with the hidden clasp) versus a timeless watch. My wrist is about 7".

I kind of agree. I have a decent amount of Rolex SSsports and my DJ41 on s/o was the last new one I added a year ago and its become my favorite along with my Milgauss and most reached for. It could really be a one and done.

If you are, suggesting, that DJ36 as the best classic / simple looking Rolex then I could agree to it.
If you are asking, then maybe I would pick another and be convinced. With Rolex being such a classic brand in general there could be a case made for many references. We all win regardless |

I don’t know about simple looking, but most classic looking Rolex in my view has got to be a TT DJ, fluted bezel with jubilee. DJ has been around for 75 years after all.

For most of the real world, Rolex means DJ. It is THE classic Rolex.

The DJ is a great watch and as long as you stay in proportion with your wrist size I think it works. I have owned several DJ II's over the years and enjoyed the watch. The 36 mm is too small for my 7.5-7.75 inch wrist and I like the larger size of the DJ II.

Explorer has it hands down for simplicity and, possibly, classic as well but for me the classic Rolex is the No Date Submariner.

2 tones DJ. No matter the size. Jubilee bracelet, fluted bezel. A Rolex from a mile away :-)
Love the one that come with chocolate dial. Yummy

No contest. It is the oyster perpetual. Rolex even calls it out as the "foundation on which Rolex has built it's reputation."

My choice would be my 36mm TT DJ & 39mm Black OP. They just say simple & classic.
