Still can't wrap my head around the fascination with ADs. As always, I'd go grey mkt and most of the time you'll end up about the same or less than retail since you'll avoid tax. Best part is you'll have the exact piece you want in a day shipped to your door. No bs, no begging or playing the AD game and being at the mercy of their barren inventory.

You won't pay anywhere close to retail for any popular SS model. People go to ADs because of the hope of paying MSRP for a BLRO vs 18K through a grey market dealer.

A popular Rolex in LV has always been harder to get than anywhere else in my opinion because the hosts and casinos buy them as soon as they come in. At least that is what an AD told me back in the day. Their cases have always been a bit bare.

I'm in vegas in may, so I will see if I can do a good deal with any of the Rolex AD

By the way, congrats to you and your wife.

I paid under retail for my SD43 new. Did a few days of inquiring and had it next day from a trusted seller here. I've had it about a year now and still would be without it if I was relying on ADs. It's funny, I do often browse ADs for kicks, especially in Vegas and anytime I'm wearing it they always comment how lucky I am to have it ect ect. Not luck at all

I know I really liked it when trying it on, unfortunately it’s not in the budget and probably never will be lol. They had most all SS models in PM only. Plenty of gold Daytonas around. Didn’t see any SS in any model other than DJ.

Nope, no begging needed. Got my Batman in Sept 2017 by going into the local AD and asking (got lucky since it arrived that day and was in the safe). Got my Hulk from Las Vegas (shipped) in Jan 2018 after random drop by to an AD and leaving my information with the SA. Then got my black SS SkyD (shipped) in Dec 2018 after complaining to the LV SA (who sold me the Hulk) that the new Rolex boutique (Fourtane) in SD didn't have much inventory on grand opening. He sold me the SkyD that came in 2 weeks after I mentioned my interest in SkyD. No begging involved in any transactions and I'm actually feeling optimistic about my chances for a white 500 sometime this year. Fingers crossed, but no begging or bs.

SS gmt masters are unlikely to be found. BLRO are all going to lucky folks on waitlists and BLNR won’t come out until June / will go to lucky people on waitlists then.

You might just find a sub though and if you do go for it!

I was there in Feb and it's worth going into some of the stores just to see some crazy high dollar Rolex watches you probably won't see elsewhere, but they chuckled when I asked if they had stainless GMT's.

There’s a pretty cool, small, Rolex museum inside the store at the Wynn (or is it Palazzo?). That’s worth a visit even if they have nothing to sell you.

If you like watches other than Rolex, there are dealers for AP, ALS, Patek, etc. Vegas is a great place to see a bunch of high-end dealers all close together.

Two things: Don't play Roulette or the slots, and the other; congrats on the wedding. :)

Slim to none, but worth the try, just don't spend all of your time in LV consumed by going to every AD hoping to get lucky. I have done that in the past and kinda missed out on the fun of being there as a result

Congratulations on the upcoming nuptials!

Definitely a great run you’ve had but most won’t even come close to finding that availability. I guess it comes down to what the buyer’s time is worth to them. In general I don’t mind hunting for deals, but when it comes to the hard or impossible to get timepieces, I find it well worth it to go grey and just have it immediately, even if there is a premium. I’d say 90% of the time I’ve saved thousands which has more than covered any premiums I do end up paying.

The gmt II would be tough especially with Rolex discontinuing some models. But the sub is still I think possible. At least try and look around and chat up the ones that seems to care. Maybe even mention about the wedding. Also, if you know anybody that might have bought at one of those ADs to have them refer you.

Congrats and good luck!

I agree with this. Check out the AD only if its close to somewhere you were planning on going anyway.

Plus keep in mind your getting married. Your future wife probably doesnt want to spend the entire trip watching you look for a watch that your probably not going to find.

There is lots to do in vegas. AD hopping shouldnt be one of them.
