Short List: Tudor vs. AP/Panerai/RL

So I had narrowed down my short list to two watches, the NOS (new old stock) Audemars Gstaad Chronograph and the Ralph Lauren Automotive Chronometer but then Tudor threw a wench into my decisionmaking by releasing the Black Bay Black Bezel last month and while I was pondering those three choices, a NOS PAM338 (I have a 6.3" circumference wrist so the 42mm Radiomir works for me) suddenly became available!

So my short list grew from two watches to FOUR!!! Arrrrgh!!!

Please help, which of these four watches do you think matches the leather duffel bag in the photo? I carry the leather duffel bag with me everywhere because its my company's signature item.

Get the AP because it is beautiful and BB because is a perfect everyday watch.

And yes, both of them match with your bag

RL watches do nothing for me. I do love AP and PAM but my choice would be the Black Bay out of those four.
Nice bag by the way.

Thanks Travis!

And thank you all for your input. Here are my watch nerd thoughts on the four watches

AP Gstaad Chronograph

Pros 1. rare limited edition 2. high end brand 3. pretty cheap ($10K) relative to the 2012 retail price of $27.5K or 64% off!

Cons 1. 20m water resistance 2. modular chronograph dubois depraz not as good as integrated chronograph 3. even at 64% off, still more expensive than the other three choices 4. curved spring bars to change strap are a pain.

PAM338

Pros 1. good sizing for my thin asian wrist 2. can use with my collection of 24mm straps and buckles from wotancraft 3. Panerais look adventurous

Cons 1. screw down crown and manual wind watch could be a pain in the ass and might strip the crown threads from overuse?

Tudor Black Bay Black

Pros 1. Classic diver looks 2. Very inexpensive at $3K

Cons 1. I wish it were a classic 39mm instead of 41mm 2. Its going to be too popular and common

Ralph Lauren Automotive Chronometer

Pros 1. Will never see this watch on another person's wrist. 2. burlwood on dial 3. military-ish design 4. works with brown Santoni straps

Cons 1. Polarizing brand and design 2. No resale value

I think the Ralph Lauren suits your bag the best as it looks like it has matching brown around the dial!

I would go with the BBB. Versatile, looks great on bracelet or strap.

The Ralph Lauren has the brown on the dial, very matchy.

out of those four I'd choose the Pam. The gold hands will accent the rich color of the bag.

Here is my question. PM me the details for the leather bag!!

As for the watch, I vote for radomir. I have one and love it's simplicity too. For the record, I love my rolexes also!

None that's not the point of watches.. To match with bags, it's super personal preference a fashion consultant would give you better advice. But if your choosing a watch not to match the bag I would choose the BBB

I actually need the watch to match the leather duffel bag AND these five objects to create a rugged luxury image for my brand in the Lookbook and Campaign.

I consider watches as part of an overall style, for example, it would be ridiculous to wear a patek calatrava with a hoodie, sweatpants, and nike trainers or an AP ceramic royal oak offshore with a dinner jacket

Jeans and a tshirt

My formal wear but unbuttoned on this pic with my 44mm novelty wore the same thing to work, dinner etc. Theres no boundaries with what you can wear it's only how you pull it off.

Read the rules.

No gun, knife, weapon threads or pictures of such since we are a worldwide forum and many members are not comfortable with this type of material. Infraction points and a possible lifelong ban will inevitably accompany such pictures, posts, or threads.

The Panerai would be best at complimenting the bag and your daily business "lifestyle."

The AP projects a bit more but seems like a great conversation starter.

The RL matches a little too well stylistically and visually and so it feels flat overall.

The Tudor is nice as a casual piece, but feels dwarfed by your products. Which may be a good thing...

I've never worried about matching a watch to anything.
But the RL seems to match your bag and is a nice looking watch.
