Went my AD today and they insinuated they might start asking for tips

Anyone else hear this.

The last piece I bought I fully expected to be handed an iPad with a 20% service charge pre-selected.

My AD told me the main benefactor of the Hans W trust is pushing for this and he will somehow manage to get all the tips himself....
BTW
I was told his name was Chewie or CJ for short

I've pretty much been priced out of the market, because I set a limit on how much I'd spend on a watch, when I started buying Rolex watches.

I paid MSRP back when everyone was getting discounts, but I was good with that, because the AD owner got me a couple of watches I couldn't have gotten without his expertise, honesty, and knowledge.

The one thing I've never done is pay a premium on new watches and I won't start now. It hardly matters though, because the MSRP on Rolex and many others has risen above my arbitrarily-imposed limit.

That's good with me, because I like my collection pretty much the way it is. I feel very fortunate to have gotten the bug when I did.

Dang Chewie. That started back when the AD's realized a certain group would purchase a crazy amount of high margin, slow moving jewelry that they didn't need or want, just to be on an imaginary "list". Genius marketing by some AD's.

Oh, now I get it. That's why their credit card machine asked me if I wanted to give 15, 18, or 20 percent gratuity when I slid my card into the machine.

A nice shrink-wrapped tri-tip isn‘t a bad gift compared to many of the other ways people debase themselves.
