Congratulations, great watch! Mine says hi. I played around with some straps like the one pictured, but in the end I put it back on the great Oyster bracelet.

I also love this reference for the lack of the ‘Mercedes’ hour hand. Just a perfect under the radar reference. Did I mention that I love this reference...?!

I knew this was the one for me the second I saw it. I liked the explorer and the milgauss but they seemed a little big for my 6.75” wrist. I felt like this watch gave me the best of both worlds (3-6-9 dial from the explorer, stick hands and blue dial similar to the milgauss) in a better fitting package.

The movement is the 3130, used in classics like the Submariner No-Date, the 114270 Explorer and Air-King 114200. Definitely not a light-weight!

I nearly bought this one. Was down to that or the Explorer 1.
Eventually found an AD that had both and went for the Explorer as it had a nicer bracelet but it was close!

My friend bought the explorer 1 two days before I got this one. I will admit the bracelet is more robust. Both great watches!

Nice thanks for sharing! I’m considering some alternative straps to dress it down a bit, i already have a buttery soft Horween strap to throw on when I’m ready for a change of pace. However, this oyster bracelet is so unbelievably nice that I’m sure I’ll end up coming back to it.

Good choice! IMO the silver and blue dials are the nicest offered for the OP. (Many will disagree.)
I've never had an interest in OP's due to it not being offered with the fluted bez and no date complication. Also, I dislike oyster bracelets on non-sport Rolex watches, the Jubilee is my first and only choice. Nonetheless, it doesn't matter on whit what I think, ya' scored a classic Rolex, We can tell you really like it!

Question: Can the newest line of Oyster Perpetual references be purchased / ordered with a Jubilee? Anyone know for sure?

Despite my personal reservations, congratulations on your first foray in Rolex country. Doubt it will be the last!

Thanks for the welcoming! I do love a good Jubilee, I wore an angus jubilee on my Seiko Marinemaster 300m for a few years.

The Rolex site doesn't give the option to configure an OP with a jubilee.

If playing with straps, it also works well on a marine national strap like one from Erika's Originals. Really comfortable. Have fun with it!

OP, I love that reference. It's got a little bit of everything, Rolex Oyster Perpetual DNA, classic 36mm size, gorgeous blue sunray dial, 369 markers, brushed oyster bracelet ... man, I'm jealous. Congrats!

Congrats! A truly spectacular watch and a great reference. I love the dimensions and wear of the 116000 series, it's a great size and has just the right amount of wrist presence while still maintaining a classic profile. The modern oyster bracelet is also superb. Try to source an easy-link, which you can retrofit on it yourself, and you're set to go!!

At first I wanted to write some lengthy post about how I went from my first Casio through all my Seiko's and finally to this watch. However, I decided I'd spare all of you the wall of text and leave you with this:

This is by far the nicest watch I've ever owned. It completely delivers the magic promised by the idea of having a Rolex and exceeds my expectations. I am absolutely in love.

Shout out to DavidSW for helping me secure this beauty.

PS. I've had the watch 4 days now and it's gained 1 second. This is amazing.
i can honestly sense your appreciation and am truly happy for you. wear in good health

If you have any tips on where to source an Easylink at a reasonable price, please do tell. Can't get them from the ADs, and prices on the forums seemed steep last time I checked.

This is the Trident with white stitching for the centre line, 20mm width, brushed buckle. You can also choose the stitch colour for the ends, and I went with blue. She also offers lumed centre line stitching, which looks white in daylight, but has the extra bonus of the lume at night. The lume is not super bright, but it does last several hours with a bit of glow. I got it on one of my other straps.

You can also add extras like stitched flags and so on, but I have not gone with that. Gets pretty expensive quickly.

Hope this helps.
