JC wore a sub for years, on one of explorations he met a chief of a indian tribe I believe in south america. The chief gave JC a gift of friendship. JC gave him is sub he was wearing. He then bought another back stateside. So in real life he has been a sub wearer for over 20 some odd years. I believe there is a vidio that Rolex made about this story As for the DS is all abut form follows function .Big watch for a reason. Love it.

And I’m pretty sure he replaced it with another 5 digit reference and not a 116610 based on the photos I’ve seen.

I owned the first generation Dblue for about a year and a half.

I absolutely loved the dial and the ultra cool domed crystal. Unfortunately, I only could justify having one larger dive watch and the SD43 won out.
