YG Day-Date II still good value?

I really like the Day Date II case proportions. They give you a lot of gold for the money along with some nice exotic looking dials. It's wears a bit more casual than the 40 which is more of the traditional size.

Prices for the YG are higher than the newer 40. Is this because the supply was never really there? Is it still a good buy or are they now a bit overpriced?

I do like the modern advancement of the president bracelet now being less stretch prone. Was that a big issue with the DD2?

im a bit of a newbie

I don't know if I would say you get a lot of gold for the money in the II over the 40. Actually, you don't get a lot of gold for the money in any PM watch.

I think the pricing just reflects that the II is discontinued now, and harder to get. Personally, I wouldn't pay more for one than a 40, but YMMV.

There def were some nice dials on the II, though. The blue wave on the WG model...exquisite.

I wouldn't either, I prefer the 40 myself. More proportional.

DD40 has newer movement and better dials
Also it's proportions make it more visually appealing

I am a DD2 fan, and I have no intentions on parting with mine anytime soon. I think it wears a bit more sportier than the DD40, which in my opinion makes it more versatile. I like the dial options on the DD2 far more than the DD40. Hopefully, Rolex will offer more dial options on the 40 in the future. Right now, the most appealing DD40s to me is the RG olive, and the PT motif. Just my 2 cents.

I agree...I think it does wear a bit sportier, sort of like the DJ2 wears compared to the 41, IMO.

I went with the ER DD40, huge improvement on every previous DD. Phenomenal watch in every way.
