Issues after servicing warranty expired

Hi all,

I had my submariner serviced in 2017. Last year the date would not "click" to stay centered in the cyclope, Rolex kindly fixed it at no charge. As of last week the watch would stop holding the charge after 4 hours of being put on the table.
Watch has 25 years.
Question: is it normal that these issues arise so shortly after servicing? I would have thought that Rolex's thorough checks during servicing would have done some sort of pre-emptive maintenance to avoid similar issues occurring.

Having a watch run down after 4 hours while sitting is not unusual, provided that it has been worn for a while and the wearer is not particularly active. As a matter of fact, the watch will stop on the wrist if the person is not active enough.

Wind if fully, then put it on the table to run down to find it's power reserve.

It is possible that after a few years the reverser wheels and other parts of the autowind mechanism can dry out or become damaged, especially the rotor axle. This is often the cause of low power reserve because it is not auto winding efficiently

Wearing a watch dont wind the watch its wrist movement that winds the watch.Try giving your watch a full manual wind say 40 plus crown turns clockwise only to test power reserve should run around 40-48 hours give or take a hour or so.If this does not fix sent it back in for service as you could have a problem.

I would expect a 2017 overhaul service to last more than 4 years.

Thanks All. And totally agree SA1, that's my point I wouldn't expect this from Rolex.
Did a few checks. If I wind it manually, 35 to 40 turns of the crown, it holds the charge (very different durations ranging from 16 hours to 41). Will take it back to the dealer and hope Rolex will be kind hearted as my latest service costed almost 700 euros. I will attempt to send it to the HQ in Switzerland for a serious check
