Disappointing Richard Mille experience
JLC Extreme Lab II is a great option, probably the one I’d go for if it was within my budget. I love this watch! (Photo from Hodinkee)
IWC just released a shock-proof concept watch which features some pretty cool engineering but isn’t my cup of tea aesthetically. I think it’s around 80k. (Photos from IWC) |

The funny thing is that from 2 ft away I would have no idea what it is , maybe an RM maybe a Yoo-blow maybe something else all together . Frankly if one is looking for that look I find the Hub decent looking and more legible and a hell of a lot cheaper than RM but then that’s not the point is it . The point of an RM is to flaunt it , to in your face it because one can’t be in it for looks and legibility |

The new RM activewear fashion line features ultra-lightweight 'SportFlex' technology from Switzerland.

You... Are... Goooooood!
But they have to be priced at $10,000 on up due to their 'technology'. Sponsors get them free of course, but watch out as I hear there's been MANY thefts of RM sunglasses as we are now seeing quite a few headlines about theft of RM sunglasses. Be careful out there when wearing 'em!

It is the most thoughtfully done sports watch I've ever seen, every aspect is cranked to 11. For example, one thing most reviews don't mention is the rubber quick change strap since most came on leather. There's a channel on the underside of the rubber strap that leads to holes on the sides of the strap to vent the wrist, no gaudy RM shark gills or slots, it just looks like a solid rubber strap. The underside of the strap also has slots to match nubs in the the rubber keepers so once the strap is on, keepers are locked into place. That attaches to a cammed titanium double pin buckle which is adjustable in length like the bracelet equivalent of a micro-extension or you can remove the pin buckle entirely for swapping straps with no tools. Finally, the straps attach to the case with not one but two spring bars at each end joined by tiny brackets which supports the quick change function and the strap ratcheting action. And all that is before we get to the watch!

This website is the gift that keeps giving. Some great copy, too: “INSPIRED BY PIRATES. Pirates will inevitably encounter storms or whirlpools during their voyage. Some people are swallowed by this powerful natural force, while others use this force to find new worlds.” Hell yeah, Bro. |

Wyler Code Chronograph I believe checks all of the boxes at the fraction of the cost of the RM
