Grappling Hook Rolex (Fault)

I read this article that refers to a Grappling Hook Rolex.... apparently there's a fault with the Carbon Fibre Escape Line, anyone else experience such faults?
and is this cover by the extended warranty?

The best thing about Rolex is they have their own dedicated foundry for the carbon fiber. Oystercarb has the look of ordinary carbon fiber but is actually a proprietary blend of carbon and Swiss Fairy Magic.

The only regret I have is taking the sticker off of the 500’ line, but it’s a tool watch after all. Whaddya gunna doo?
