Love the new SMPc but can someone please talk about the thickness of the watch. Is it massively thick like the Plant Ocean is? Nobody talks about or has shown the thickness .

How about a couple of side profile pictures sitting flat or compared to the 41mm SMPc or a Subc please.

It's thicker than the Sub and slightly thicker than the previous generation Seamaster due to the open caseback. Otherwise, I don't find the the thickness to be an issue.

Not small but not a deal killer either. I was skeptical of the size but it works!

It's a great watch! I'm very pleased with my decision to go with the black dial (even though I have a Black SubC) The black with red accents are just perfect IMO.

I'll try to get a few side-by-side pics of both later this afternoon

Thanks Eric !

I'm thinking Black dial too. I've got the blue 41mm SMPc already and Subc's too.
The black seems a little less in your face then the blue in the side by side pics. And the red just gives it that little bit extra ....

you cant go wrong with black or blue

I went with black on a bracelet as I had sold my sub c 3 years ago - much prefer the omega irrespective of price

one of the best value watches out there imo

I am about to pull the trigger on one of these as well.

I currently have a 2017 Black Ceramic Seamaster, and used curved spring bars to mount the 20 inch black rubber Planet Ocean deployment band.

Curious to know if there have been any significant changes to the lug that would prevent that band from working? I would like to get bracelet, and just swap them out depending on what I wanted to wear.

Yes, Omega's website has it listed at 20mm between lugs

I am tempted to buy the blue dial version but i have seen some internet photos where the blue looks washed out and very light in colour, under some lighting conditions. The blue one i saw at an AD was dark and beautiful under interior lighting, but i am afraid under sunlight the colour might appear very different.
Any experiences/thoughts?

Happy to formally join the club! I also have the bracelet but went for the rubber first. I’m also eyeing that grey and blue NATO from Omega.

I have to say, I really love this watch. I’ve been wanting a blue dial for some time now, and this one ticks all the boxes for me. I compared it to the others, but I was immediately drawn to the blue dial. All look fantastic though.

It wears very similar to my Sub, because although it’s technically larger in a 42mm it is stretched out well on my wrist and the Sub is squatty due to the thicker lugs and maxi case.

Not great pics yet, but here are a few indoor ones fresh on the wrist.

Wash out? No. The dial of the Seamaster has one of the best AR in the business, and remains perfectly legible under ALL lighting conditions. Unless by "wash out" you are referring to the case when bright sunlight hits the dial directly and in such cases, it turns into silver. Like this :

In almost every other cases, it is blue, but with many shades depending on lighting. The dial is ceramic is very dynamic. I have posted lots of pictures in this thread and so have other owners. Please feel to browse to have a better idea what it looks like. What I can say for sure is that the watch will look miles better under natural light.

So true that it's actually quite difficult to capture on phone all the various ways the blue dial/bezel combo changes. It's never boring to look at!

Thanks! Shoot me a PM and maybe I can help you get a rubber strap for a discount.

Few more pics. These were just taken outside this morning under cloudy skies. I love this watch. Looking forward to trying it on the bracelet as well.

I put this watch on Layaway at my AD. Blue on rubber. I was there yesterday throwing down some cash and trying it on again. Holy bejesus is this thing stunning! The red accents on the blue look so good. Funny thing is on my way out a man and his wife came in and asked for the same watch! My gut was right to get it in the safe with my name on it as quick as possible! Can't wait to get it home!
