A new vintage inspired milgauss would be a great update. It's hard to get too excited since most of these new models won't be obtainable anyway...

Milgauss might actually be attainable. Not a popular model.

They've been promoting the Milgauss like crazy on their social media account. My guess would be we're about to see a new reference for 2019 or it's time to say good bye...

I've been noticing all the Instagram posts too and I tend to agree with OP. They've been pushing it so hard that there has to be *some* rationale behind it. My money is on an update (not discontinuation) with design cues that look back to the 6541 reference.

Whatever they do, I hope they keep it different so it doesn't look like just another Sub or DJ.

Have you guys scrolled down their IG any further? They did the same thing with the Explorer a few months ago. It is certainly possible that an update to the Milgauss is coming, but I don't think that their IG account is a good indicator.

I ran some models and based on the shadow tilt angle, I am betting it has a date window.

Curious what you mean; are you talking about the original Milgauss or the later issued ones? The Milgauss, as far as I know, was a technologist's watch for those involved in work with high magnetic fields.

Eh, that'd make sense. Silly me. Still, I prefer it when zeroes are added on the crown.

I think Rolex likes to do this to confuse folks such as yourself.

Personally I think it would be pretty embarrassing if Rolex releases a new Milgauss that differs only in design aesthetic. Compare to its competitors, it is an outdated watch, tech-wise, with respect to its initial tool purpose. So unless they release a new version with a new movement containing new antimagnetic tech allowing it to lose the faraday cage and make the watch slimmer , then I think it would be a waste.

Or they are trying to move the only watch that is sitting in their showcases

Check this out. An homage to the 1019, one of my favorite vintage pieces. I think the modern version would be fantastic. I'm a one watch guy looking at getting a second. If the Monochrome version is correct, I'd get one (assuming I could, which is a big assumption these days--even for a Rolex model that isn't that popular) and look to a third watch. 1019s run for $20k plus. A modern version with all the best of Rolex for $8k would be a bargain!

Well, probably discontinuing AK this year or next, as they deplete the cases for both models. They are probably running out of Explorer WG 3-6-9 too.

Pretty happy I got my hands on a Brand new milgauss in white before the current design becomes discontinued (possibly)
