Approx shipping insurance value for Jubilee bracelet
All,
I am considering sending my 1984-era two tone jubilee bracelet from my 16013 Datejust to Mr. Young for restoration. What is a good amount to insure it for? I am trying to research this and searches on "16013 jubilee bracelet" and similar bring up a lot of watches (complete) due to the search criteria. The watch was originally bought by my father, so we are talking original bracelet. I do want to insure it for full replacement value with like-year original bracelet if the worst happened.

At least $700-800. The difference in the insurance between a couple hundred dollars is not much.
Your insurance will not be an issue with import tax/duty going into HK. I agree with you and look to protect your investment in case of a loss.. |

When I sent 2 of my bracelets to MY in HK, I only insured them for about 200 bucks each.
I didn't want to draw attention to them by stating they were worth about a grand each. I din't really see the problem if they need a signature at the other end, and are at least insured. I think something is more likely to go missing if it says it's worth a lot of money, and is a very small package... Just my opinion of course. |

I have sent a 9315, insured for 1000. Guess once bitten, twice shy, the post office lost a new custom bracelet shipped to me by another seller with no insurance.

That's essentially what I'm asking. I've tried to research this but have more "false positives" with links to whole watches than era-appropriate standalone bracelets.

1k is about the max you'll pay, I've seen TT folded links oysters for less than that and they're more desirable

Good idea.
Thanks, folks. I think I can take it from here. As always, this is the best Rolex info (and opinion!) source.
