Kind of always thought I preferred the versatility and subdued nature of the WG, but the YG is stunning. I like how the champagne dial is almost a silvery-gold and changes significantly in various lighting conditions. I'd hesitate on the YG primarily since it feels more difficult to pair with clothes, and also if it attracts a bit too much attention (although the OF / Ceramic helps)

Not that I'm going to buy anytime in the next year (just got an AP 15450 so need to slow down) but what say you all - YG or WG?
The YG is very nice and I actually tried both at my local AD when I picked up my Pepsi...to be honest, the WG is superlative in every sense of the word! It reminds of of the old Sigma dial Daytonas from the 70's and the silver tone on the dial is beautiful!

So many choices...sigh.

I just picked this up and couldn't be happier with it. It has that rare quality of radiating sheer beauty, but without being in your face about it. Someone said 'subdued,' in an above post, and I would agree...which is just the way I like it.

However, there are so many fantastic options, it just depends on how you see it fitting into your collection and sense of style. Good luck,

Really? Didn't know that. My vote would go for WG with bracelet, and gold bezel. Somehow it just seems nicer than ceramic. Although more easily marked.

Yes it’s due to the palladium required for the white/grey colour and as Rolex white gold is the same throughout, it never needs rhodium plating.

This was an analysis from a WG Daytona;

78.5% Gold
14% Palladium
7.5% Copper

Best regards.

I went with the WG but your other choice is the only YG watch I ever considered so either of these choices are great. Good luck on your decision.

It all depends on what looks best on your skin! It's been a week and I love it. For me, I am getting use to it wearing "smaller" compared to my other Rolex's. Hands down, PM daytona is super comfortable and looks great on! Statement piece!

WG on oysterflex. With SS prices climbing up and up, it will soon be cheaper to get a PM Daytona than an SS one ;-)

Nice comparison photos! Thanks for posting.

Slight preference for the WG because of its stealthiness.

Love the WG, but for me the dial is very hard to read regardless of the case material. Of the two, I’d go WG. Hope your eyes are good.

Yes, your AD can order a leather band so you have the flexibility to make it more formal. The Eassylink clasp is interchangeable for both bands.

there is no way to make a mistake with a PM daytona, as long as it is on a PM bracelet and not on rubber.

Even the RG with ivory dial is stunning. Somehow the PM Daytonas look more attractive with ceramic bezels but I’m not sure about the oysterflex.. leather belt would make it look classier. I guess you can get a good deal with discount which would turn out cheaper than SS white face! Lol

I have the 116515LN rose gold pink dial. It’s aesthetically great and the most symmetrical I don’t actually like rose gold but with the oyster flex there to break it up it works really well. I walked into and AD and they had it there someone was meant to buy it that day and never turned up so I snapped it up

White gold is awesome and Rolex offers some great dials for white gold. For me white gold is like true luxury and usually for people who have other yellow gold watches. If I were getting just one pm watch or my first, it would have to be a yellow/rose gold watch, no question or doubt about it.
