Interested in the WG BLRO, but have never seen one
What can I do? This is easy to buy grey, but I’ve never seen one in real life. I’d really like to know what the bezel looks like in real life before dropping essentially $30k.

Maybe you could express your feelings to a trusted seller for a test ride. There should be a return policy if you don't like it, that way you'll just be out the shipping charges.

Interested in the WG BLRO, but have never seen one
Search for threads on the WG BLRO. There are weight comparisons vs SS.
I love mine. Best advice was already given, in my opinion. If you can’t find one in person, pick a trusted seller here and talk about having them ship you one. If you do not like it, most have return policies. Understand their expectations so you fulfill your obligation to return the watch in proper condition, before you move in that direction. I've seen several still sitting in AD cases...have you checked all ADs within a couple hour's drive of your location?

The real colour of the bezel depends very much on the ambient light. For me it looks beautiful in every light

What are you expecting for the colors to look like? If you are looking for a blue/red combo like the older aluminum bezels or the official Rolex stock images then walk away now. They change colors depending on the lighting and they are not a pure blue or red. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

PM is heavier, so there’s that. But I am liking this reference very much. Probably even more than a Smurf.

You all of course know that 116719 BLRO was discontinued since around two months ago?

Do you try to find one sitting around now or wait and see if there is in fact a newer version coming with the new movement (as is widely speculated here). Hmm... |

Full disclosure, I'm not saying this because I own one. I think the steel BLRO will be a stand alone piece (which will keep its availability and value high) for a good few years to come. I think we will see a white gold coke in 2019 followed a few years later but a steel coke. Not having a steel coke around will mean decent sales of the white gold coke. Once Rolex have extracted big profits from this, they will turn to to a steel coke and discontinue the white gold model (as they have done with the current Pepsi). This is almost like a movie plot that you can see coming a mile off. Unless you've fallen asleep half way through the movie |
