No way. I am not a fan of any of these blacked out PVD or DLC coated watches. If I wanted a blacked out watch, I'd just go and buy a Casio G-Shock.

If I saw that on someone’s wrist I’d assume it was a fake from a Chinese market stall.

Makes you wonder whether all that customisation is done to hide a multitude of sins?

Looks horrible. I never like when a watch is altered from its original design.

That my friend, without question, has to be one of the ugliest watches that I have ever had the displeasure of laying eyes upon. Rolex has already destroyed the beautiful proportions of the 16570 with the overinflated case and hands of this model and coloration of this monstracity drives it over the cliff.

I think a blacked out Explorer II could be done well, I just don't like this particular treatment.

About the only exp2 "mod" I like is removing the paint from the bezel numbers.
Sorta like this but less worn looking (random internet image). If I can source a new bezel for a 16570 I might do this with my old one. |

I have to say that's maybe one of the worst things I've seen done to a watch. Sorry.
