(a) the Portable Fountain Pen "Ishime Kanhitsu" (Stone Finish)
(b) no 2, Extra Fine
(c) either a platinum or PVD nib
(d) Writing with it will be a pleasure, but like Japanese food, its not just the eating or presentation.. its the texture.. the stone finish that will add this..

a)Nakaya Long Cigar Ascending Dragon - Heki-Tamenuri
b)Fine Nib 3
c)No clip
d)What amazes me is the history, materials and workmanship in these pens. I've owned many fine writing instruments but there are stories that can be told about a Nakaya!

A most excellent give away! I'm familiar with only a few fine writing instruments (I own a Mont Blanc Diplomat) but learned about this pen company on this forum. They are very nice. Congrats to the winner!

Thanks Steve for opening this up...
Neo Standard
Black-Red
Medium Nib with Cursive Italic modification.

I really like the larger dimensions of the Neo Standard design. The black-red will age beautifully as the red becomes more visible over time. Medium nib as Nakaya nibs are much finer than most other manufacturers.

Thanks for the opportunity!

Hopefully I'm not too late...

a) Nakaya Long Fountain Pen Aka-tamenuri -- Long Cigar, no clip, dark reddish-red, with the painted "goldfish" converter

b) Fine point nib

c) The pen should be setup for a right-handed writer, using light pressure, with a light to medium ink flow.

d) This pen exudes basic Japanese simplicity and quality. The body and cap are pure, smooth curves. In the cigar shape, your eye is not distracted by a clip or other decoration. As you peer into the depths of the urushi, your imagination transports you to a time long ago. The many layers of hand finished lacquer offer subtle nuances of shading in changing light. Lastly, as the instrument is revealed from its kimono with all its beauty, a special surprise is still hidden inside; the intricate tiny maki-e goldfish converter adds to this exquisite package. I would savor each loving stroke as the nib places ink on paper.

Thanks, Steve, for making this a really great place!

(a) a precise model Nakaya Pen:

Nakaya Maki-e Kissho Tsuikin Dragon Fountain Pen
Ryukyu(Okinawa) Tsuikin *"A Flying Dragon"(飛龍)

(b) a nib size/style:

The Nakaya nib, imprinted Nakata, the family name of the manufacturer is made of solid 14K gold. MEDIUM 0.34 to 0.44mm

(c) the personal customisation/s-
that you would wish nibs.com (John Mottishaw) to make to your own Nakaya;

GRIP - Ishi-me Kan-shitsu- Stone finish (textured)
Ishi = Stone Increases the grip, available in black and other colors. Price for this addition is $80.00

(d) why you prefer your selections in (a)-(c) above.

I would like the "Stone Finish" grip because she (wife) like a good texture to grip with. I would love to win this for my wife and she loves "Dragons" !

Thanks,
Randy

1.Piccolo Writer Tame-Sukashi Mother and Baby Elephant Fountain Pen
2.Med. .44mm soft flexible nib with gold plating.

The pen is short, but will accommodate my large hand.
I like the flexible for diversity in style of writing, since my drafting skills will allow me to very the pressure when writing.
In short, it's a beautifully styled pen!

Nakaya Piccolo Black Hairline Finish Fountain Pen w/ clip

Medium Nib

Ruthenium Clip & Nib

This one is understated (and elegant) which I prefer. It is also small enough to (ideally) take with me during presentations.

Sorry but that is a special edition pen, and is worth about $3000 out of the factory.
The giveaway is only for the 'standard range' Nakaya pens (of which there is still a heck of a lot) which are really great quality pens.

Alrighty then, lets do this:

2. You must go to www.nibs.com and identify:
(a) a precise model Nakaya Pen;

Long Fountain Pen
Midori (Green)

(b) a nib size/style; and

The Nakaya nib, imprinted Nakata, the family name of the manufacturer is made of solid 14K gold. MEDIUM 0.34 to 0.44mm

(c) the personal customisation/s-
that you would wish nibs.com (John Mottishaw) to make to your own Nakaya;

Ishi-me Kan-shitsu Stone finish (textured)
Ishi = Stone Increases the grip, available in black and other colors. Price for this addition is $80.00

Maybe even add a 'clip' .

(d) why you prefer your selections in (a)-(c) above.

I would like the "Stone Finish" because I like a good texture to grip with.
I like the green enamel color; reminds of ROLEX color !

I would like to order:

a) Nakaya Portable Writer Aka-tamenuri
b) Two tone Broad nib
c) Adjustment for left hand who writes by pulling the pen instead of pushing the pen
d) A personalized pen for a left handed person would be dream and a joy to use. I like
the uniqueness of the color combination.

a. Long Fountain Pen Kuro-tamenuri (Black-Red)
b. #4 Medium Nib for general writing.
c. No modifications required
d. This is one of the most stunning pens I have seen aesthetically and the nib would be perfect for the the majority of writing I do that this pen deserves.

Here is my entry:

(a) Nakaya - Equilibrium - Black - Long
(b) Medium Nib platinum
(c) No customizations necessary
(d) The above combinations will inspire me to start communicating on a daily basis through hand written letters instead of using e-mail's. I have ordered myself a wax seal stamp and a fine fountain pen would be the perfect complement.

Cheers!

a) Standard Writer (w/clip) Juro-Tamenuri
b)Medium Nib Two Tone
c)None
d)I do enjoy fountain pens but do not own a quality pen yet. Nakaya Pens fit that bill, and as far as the color, blackish red, you cant go wrong. I chose the medium nib because I have been looking for more of a finer nib, and these run smaller than their size.
