Gus, your collection has truly changed! It is very impressive. I do not see very much need for consolidation, each piece is gorgeous and unique. Congrats!

Thank you Sam. I wouldn’t say no regrets as selling my 5711 now would have been much preferred to 2 years ago but seriously the watches I have let go we’re all for a reason, sometimes when they’re gone we forget why (like old girlfriends) but ultimately that little tick (pun intended) returns.

The 5711 is the only watch that I misss sometimes. And I wish the Daytona was more legible as I really like the watch.

Thank you, the 5940 case is really wonderful and typically seen on very limited releases. It is curious why there is not more buzz around it.

Thank you for a most fascinating story and the opportunity to see such a vast collection of beautiful watches.
One of the best I have enjoyed in my brief time on this forum.
My modest collection consists of a Sub and Explorer 1, and I get great pleasure from them.
Looking forward to watching the progress of your story.

The most recently acquired Cartier Cintree has been in my sights since i first began my interest in watches back in the late 80's.

i had come across the Cintree in a Sotheby's watch auction catalog and was immediately interested but couldn't begin to understand how to find a vintage watch at the time.

in 2018 Cartier released 100 additional Cintree in platinum and through the good will and communication of the watch community i gained access and put a deposit down to secure a piece.

in another post i realized that this piece completes a chapter of my original watch collecting goals of 3 pieces. Rolex Patek and this Cintree.

i find myself completely content with my collection at this time, albeit more than i would ideally like, and will take the opportunity to step back and enjoy it... perhaps the next phase is some type of consolidation?

but for now only

Note i believe most pieces will be easily identifiable to the members, the one piece in the back right side is an Oris Diver 65 / Redbar LE. cool watch with nice back story.
Well done Gus! nice collection!!

This is a very inspiring thread, especially for someone like me with a modest collection and only a few years into this hobby/addiction. I love seeing the evolution. Just wonderful.

Sometimes the 5711 Nautilus but for the way I was using it, the submariner was the better choice. Preferring no date was a big factor in the decision.

Even Pre price insanity, I found the msrp difficult to justify for a sports watch with a not particularly compelling movement.

You have a beautiful collection and had some other not less awesome watches. What are others grial watches for you, if any?
For me the A Lange 1815 time only is that kind of watch , the FP bleu is another.

About consolidation, well is difficult but that Oris has to go (I have the blue diver 65 so nothing against it) it's the weakest link.
As second, the Seiko has to go! Now that the Cintrée is in the Seiko is redundant.

Of course that's just me. I will keep watching if you flip any.
Thanks for sharing.

Interesting thoughts.
Agree with you the oris and the Seiko don’t quite fit in.

The oris was purchased purposely as a travel watch for places I might not feel comfortable wearing a rolex, that said I have not traveled without my rolex on since my first in 1991.

The Grand Seiko is probably going to be in my collection for a long time, the closer you look at it the more amazing you realize it is. It satisfies my desire for a classic looking dress watch.

Re the ALS 1815, that is probably my favorite choice for the brand.

Nothing on the watch radar except a modern Pepsi at the moment.

Actually I am have been dreaming about a Porshe 911 for a very long time ...
