A quick check on the Sea Dweller 43mm

Do you all owners of this watch, especially not using it for diving, remove the diving extension link when sizing up the bracelet?

I don't dive and if the extension is not removed, the clasp seems not centered at the back know of my wrist. I'm contemplating about it ...

Thanks in advance 😊

Yes, absolutely remove the extension. That made it fit perfectly for me, but if you need to remove a link or two you'll have far better results without the extension.

Yes. Removing it was the key to proper fit (and removal of one more link) I thought it was all just "mumbo jumbo" talk from people, untill I just tested it out, and it was the cure for the "almost, but not great" sizing I had before.

Worst case...you spend a couple minutes just putting it back on. No harm no foul.

I dive and still removed mine. The glidelock is plenty of adjustment if you adjust your links so the glidelock is not maxed out for everyday use. Play around with the 1/2 link on what side it’s on as it will also make a difference. You can fine tune this watch to a perfect fit for any wrist.

Centered.

It looks like many people remove the extension link in general, not just me alone 😊

Better to remove the dive extension, its easier to centralize the clasp and makes the bracelet more flexible = more comfortable.

Yes I removed it. Was contemplating selling the watch as I thought I couldn’t get a good fit and then I read another thread in this forum about removing it. I did that and the watch has been my daily ever since.

Whilst i can't speak of the SD43.
I left mine in place on my 116660 DSSD.
The clasp is perfectly centered on the underside of my wrist and it fits the curve across the underside of my wrist perfectly.

It helps to stabilize the radial location of that top heavy beauty even with that skinny old Bracelet

I left mine in and pulled one other link. That dive extension is a big part of that watch for me, has a big Rolex crown engraved on the inside, which is awesome!

I went to rolex RSC to have it removed after 2 months of wearing it. it feels more comfortable now as the bracelet wrap around my wrist very nicely.

100% agree with all this.

Even on the tightest glidelock setting the extension protrudes outnofnthe clasp by more than a links length, but with no bend at all, essentially elongating the form and rigidity of the clasp. It’s kind of a silly design IMO. Took mine out immediately.

Always remove it on the SD and DSSD. Noticeably more comfortable fit for me.

Removed from the SD43 and the DSSD. Comfort was part but more so for looks. That clasp is very long with the extension.

The Monaco AD where I bought it would not do it as he said I would lose the garantee. One of these days I’ll ask my local dealer to do it as I am convinced to gain comfort.
