unless you’re a watchmaker and will be working on it yourself, i’d recommend sending it to a rolex service center and letting them handle it. you will basically have a brand new watch with a 2 year rolex warranty to go with it when you get it back.

Rolex sells the complete balance wheel as an assembly - not just loose hairsprings.
Be sure you buy a sealed part in its original blister pak - an opened part could be a problem if it was ever mishandled. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Hairsprings and balance wheels are 'married' in the factory, you cannot just simply switch them up, that would result in a very very frustrating and impossible task to get it running within spec.

Where is the best place to buy it? I see that ebay has a few ranging from 280 to 800 is there a best deal shop on line?
I saw here in the forum a guy sold one for 150! Is this a good price for it? Thanks for all your support and help! I really wanted to repair it before the new year! It is frustrating to not find the parts so easy we'll hope you can really help me on to that! Last edited by Tools; 3 January 2021 at 10:17 AM.. |

You throw it away. There is no “if”, there is no resale value in a Rolex balance wheel without its hairspring. Buy the right part and good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Listen to the above advice.
Unless you are skilled enough to vibrate a new hairspring to your old balance wheel - it will never keep time correctly! |

Which means you'd have to get your hands on an uncut raw hairspring, which one will never be able to obtain for a Rolex. I've done this for a 6497, and it was hard |

Do it yourself, Worst result is you send it to RSC in the end, Maybe you can get the part from @ViperB , I prefer to do my own work or let one of my watchmakers do the work before sending it off.

The hairspring doesn't have a separate part number, it cannot be ordered separately. For a reason...

You don’t want to try and vibrate a balance spring. Especially a Rolex 3135 where you’d have the additional task of forming the overcoil.
If any ones interested this link shows a guy vibrating a balance spring for a Rolex 1570 https://www.awci.com/wp-content/uplo...vember2011.pdf |
