The newer version seems crisper and cleaner. At the end of the day, they are both great.

I prefer the 116613. Gold text on the dial matches well with all other gold accents of the case. No coronet at six is another plus. White font on the new one looks off to me.

The 41. The more tapered lugs and slightly wider bracelet make it for me.

I dont think your minority I think your in the majority. From feedback on the numerous forums and watch clubs I belong there is a MASSIVE fan base for the maxi case and for lovers of the Bluesy the gold text is a must.

I still cant get used to that white text on the dial. For me Rolex stuffed up on that bigtime.

Since i can remember, I have always thought the Blue TT sub was the best looking watch ever produced. Having had at least one variant since 2002, to me the gold script was past its due. The white gives it a sportier, updated profile without even really noticing its different. The more i spend time with it the more I like it.

Agree and I cant shake the feeling that they did it just to cut costs.

Wait, wait. You seriously think that Rolex cares about the financial consequences of a font color...on one dial...of a specific model? You should rethink that. I understand you may not think you like the change but wait until you see one in person before concocting conspiracy theories. My apologies for being blunt.

They probably beat these ideas to death before producing them. I have seen this new watch in person, quite striking but I personally prefer the gold lettering and maxi case. The thinner lugs are ok but the bracelet dimensions don’t excite me. They could have imitated the SD with white text and just the Submariner line in gold text, might have been cool. Just my opinions

Love the new one. Bigger bracelet suits the two tone and white is writing on the dial is crisp. Home run.

Sorry but still looks as tacky as ever for one reason!
The awful yellow infill markers on the bezel are still in yellow not gold, the clash with the gold bracelet looks awful in my opinion and kills the watch for me.
I have owned one but sold it for that reason as I can’t see past it now, makes the watch look tacky and nasty to me
For some reason the rose gold TT versions like the GMT CHNR, YMII have matching bezel in fills meaning they look so much better, I don’t understand why Rolex can’t manage to do this still on yellow gold TT

I don't see that colour difference in mine. You say the "infill markers are in yellow, not gold". The gold in the bezel insert is real gold, the filling is done by PVD, it's not a yellow paint.

I love the white text on 126613LB - it really freshens it up IMO and loses some of the slightly '80's vibe of the 116613LB. That to me makes a bigger impact on this piece that the wider bracelet.

I like the newer version. It’s a little sleeker looking and the white text makes a big difference to me. I prefer it.

40mm 2019 Bluesy Submariner vs 41mm 2020

Interesting that most are commenting on the font color. One of the main reasons I chose the 116613LB (in addition to my preference for gold font) is because of the tried and true 3135 movement. Bulletproof as they say.

I had the call last week to pick up the 126613. I ended up selling a couple of days later and managed to source a late 116613 LB with new style card. It was a straight swap. I much prefer the maxi case and thinner bracelet alongside 20mm lug size. New one is nice but couldn’t be happier with the 116613.

My humble opinion is the wider bracelet of the 41mm looks so much better, especially at the lugs. The extra width is in the center link which gives you more gold in this model. To me the prior version looked out of proportion, where the lugs ended and the bracelet begins it makes the bracelet look too skinny. The wider clasp works better for me with a larger wrist. Font color is not nearly as important to me as the bracelet fitting, width and better shaped lugs.

My preference goes for the 126613LB.
The new case is much better in my opinion, close to 4 digits sub proportions but slightly bigger: nice lugs, better case bracelet junction. I love the new dial opening and think the combination dial/insert is much better proportioned now.
I personally love the harmony of the white text with the markers but totally agree on the history side of this matter...
I am not sure one of my watch ever got this kind of wrist time in the first months.
Despite some other interesting pieces in my box, she’s almost winning all the time :)

I miss my bluesy. Honestly wouldn’t mind either one. But it’s hard to shell out 15k for one when I owned one a couple years ago for 11k. I would still love to get my hands on a 41 though at retail. To bad all my ADs I visit just think I’m a nobody. Lol

I prefer the white text. It looks cleaner and more modern. I tried both the LN and LB. At first glance the LN looked more beautiful but after wearing both for a few minutes, the LB sang a louder tune lol.

Not a fan of the white text. But the bigger deal to me is I don't like the new width of the clasp. I had a 124060 for a brief moment that and the questionable new movement made me sell.

12 for me. Crisper dial with the white text and AR coating + slim lugs looks way better to me

Who ever said you cant pick which one out of a lineup is correct. Great looking watch and as happy as I am with the old one, I wouldn't kick either out of my watch case...

I like the white text a lot better.

The case size and new movement don't matter to me.
