Weird case back number on a 15200. Help needed

Hi guys,

I recently grabbed a Rolex date ref 15200 with 3135 caliber and no holes case. However i just realized that the caseback has 2120 stamped inner side instead of 15200 or 15000. The watch overall looks genuine to me but since the caseback has this weird marking i have now some doubts.

Anybody has any experience with such an issue? What is 2120?

Any advice will be highly appreciated

If I remember it was around 2000-2004 that Rolex changed the code on case backs no longer reference number just 4 digits that covered all models in that reference range. And believe you asked exactly the same question in the vintage forum which was answered.

This chart indicates that you have the correct case-back for your model.

Many thanks... That info matches perfectly with the Y series case which dates to 2002 ;)
