Halfway through a bad movie

I've committed an hour to a movie that is nearly two hours. I somewhat regret the first hour but I am considering just finishing it out at this point.

If this happens to you do you finish the movie.

Full disclosure I should have know a movie starring Jared Leto would be garbage.

15-30 minutes and I walk or keep watching movies.

It depends.

Sometimes I have to watch a movie more than once to truly appreciate it.

Sometimes, I'm so put off that I can give up in 15 minuted and never give it another chance.

"Heartbreak Ridge" is a film that I probably didn't last 15 minutes, it was so repulsive. It's little doubt that the Corps pulled support of the film.

"Magnolia" is one that left me flat on the first viewing, but I thought that it deserved another viewing, so I gave it another chance and it's one of my favorites even to this day.

"Pulp Fiction" is one that I gave up on in just a few minutes with no intentions of a second try, but I decided to give it another chance and lo and behold, I loved it.

Ha! This happens to me all the time. I finish watching the movie whether I picked it or my Wife picks it. However, my Wife almost always bails out!

Was on a flight yesterday.

Tried to watch the new Bruce Willis sci-fi flick. So bad. Ended it.

Rewatched something from my past.

I’m typically of the just finishing it crowd. Even if I hate the movie for me it’s hard leaving a story without and ending.

However as of recent there have been some really bad ones. Tried that Mark Wahlberg one from paramount plus the other day and had to quit about halfway. I don’t believe it was ever said he was a fantastic actor, but that film really shows his lack of depth and the plot wasnt really there to at least keep me. It’s like they tried so hard to make a bootleg Christopher Nolan movie but kind of lost the plot and got stuck with Mark Wahlberg in a monotone sort of Mark Wahlberg ness to just sink it.

We sometimes, read the précis of a movie, and say; "we'll give it five".
Some American, college, chick-flick type movies, get much, much less than that.

'Rollerball' is the only film I've actually walked out of the cinema, mid-movie.
Wasn't keen on, 'Out of Africa', the first time I saw it...I couldn't bring myself to like Meryl Streep after 'Kramer v Kramer'.....but OOA is now one of my favourite films. I've come to realise, what a good film actress Ms Streep is.

If you're not enjoying the movie, end it.

What was the movie, you were watching?

PS. Just remembered, I wanted to walk out of the cinema, mid-'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' but, I daren't move...in the dark.

After a full hour, if you're thinking you don't want to finish it, then don't finish it.
By then, you've given it a fair chance.
If you have doubts that far in, the film has failed you.

It really does depend. Frankly, i truly enjoy watching some 'bad' movies for the hokiness of it all. Kinda like being an audience member during an episode of Mystery Science Theater.

Of course some movies are soooo bad, please, for God's sake end it now! LOL

Completely. If the movie is trying to be serious and it's bad I turn it off. But then there's a bad movie like The Tomorrow War on Amazon Prime. It's a bad movie, but the director realized they have a great cast, an interesting story, but plot holes you can drive a semi through. They had no way to make it elegant, so they made it loud and fast and I thoroughly enjoyed it without the need to think too hard.

Tough call. I dumped Once Upon A Time in Hollywood half way through due to bad acting and boredom.

If a person watched The Sixth Sense, and dumped it anywhere before the last 10 minutes you would have missed the whole movie.

Decisions, decisions.

I love movies and will typically watch all the way through even if it's only meh. Only movie I've walked out from was "Into the Woods". Talented cast but just agonizing to watch.
