Watch nerds first time in NYC

Hello all. I’m heading to NYC next week for the first time and wanted to swing by a boutique or two. Not trying to see if there’s anything to buy (already know there’s not lol) just wanted to see which ones are worth dropping by just to see. Where I live there’s only a couple smaller ADs so I’m sure the big city at least has some nice eye candy. Thought about WOS and Wempe. Maybe the Rolex boutique if they have some cool exhibits as I know some of them do from time to time.

if you just want eye candy then walk down the diamond district on 47th. you'll see every model you can ever imagine as well as ones you never even knew existed. it's a must see if you're a watch nerd lol

I have heard of the diamond district. This is definitely going on the list. I’d love to see some vintage stuff. I’ve yet to see a red sub in person so that would be a real treat to knock off the list. Thanks!

Best places: Bucherer Time Machine, VC, WEMPE, Breguet, Blancpain, Omega, Tissot, Tag, Cartier, AP, RM, Jacob & Co., Tiffany & Co., and Breitling stores are all within a few blocks of each other.

Diamond District and walk into the marts — don’t just look at windows from the street.

Rolex Boutique is small and completely empty.

Some of the big ADs may have exhibition models to try on and have some fun with.

yup think you covered everything. i would especially suggest cartier because it's a multifloor mansion turned into a store

I would suggest Wempe if you're looking for an AD. They do have some show models to try on.

If you're looking for gray, Avi is my recommendation. You'll get to see almost any piece that you never see at ADs.. albeit with a heavy mark up.

A third for Bucherer Time Machine. It's modern and carries a comprehensive assortment of watch brands, many more interesting than Rolex. Plus, as others have mentioned, it's smack dab within a few blocks of numerous other worthwhile boutiques, most brand specific.

Most of the major brands have boutiques here as others have noted. Don’t bother looking for Rolex - dry as a bone unless you have a relationship. 47th St is always fun to window shop in. Typical grey prices if you know what you’re doing.

Otherwise, it’s NYC…much better things to do than spending your time in watch stores likely looking for models that aren’t available!

Not trying to see if there’s anything to buy (already know there’s not lol)

You would be surprised what there is available if you come across accordingly.

Time machine Bucherer, AP, RM (waste of time) Wempe, then 47th street are all right by each other. Going to these areas will give you watch overload, as others have said much more fun things to do then window shop for watches in NYC

New York is a paradise for watch lovers…as long as you’re not looking for a new Rolex. Wempe, Tourneau, WOS, Bucherer, London all have great multi-brand selection to look at. For vintage try Aaron Faber and Louis Martin, both right off 5th Avenue in the 50’s.
The Diamond District, 47th St between 5th and 6th Avenues is a candy store for resellers but don’t expect any bargains.

Stop by the newly opened flagship Vacheron Constantin boutique on Madison and 57th St. Even if you are not a fan of VC, their store is beautiful and worth checking out.

The store is set up nicely, but I found their in-person tour and product selection lacking. Still worth a visit, though, considering how close it is to so many other shops of interest.

You would enjoy the Tudor Boutique at 29-35 9th Avenue

If you're into cameras and electronics a fun, unique experience is to go to BH Photo at 420 Ninth Avenue (34th Street).

What about Panerai, Patek Philippe, Lange, Grand Seiko, JLC, Oris and Casio?
