Have fun! I hope you get to have some nice experiences & make good memories. (Don't push any annoying kids overboard... that kinda stuff may be frowned upon.)

Made it to Barcelona. 3 nights and board on the 7. Barcelona at night has a totally different feeling. Apparently quite dangerous in certain quarters but we felt ok

We were here this time last cruise for a daytime

Saw a chap with a SS yacht master on the plane. I shall incorporate as many watch pictures as possible

No more pics till we get on the ship as Barcelona isn't unknown to most of you

On that note MSC have apparently been inundated with complaints even before the cruise started due to several route changes some understandably so

ie Israel etc but a couple of changes, the reasons have been rather tenuous and frankly unbelievable.

MSC UK MD said they have never known anything like this and it's gone right to the top in Italy for urgent discussion regarding it..
We await further updates

The good news is on a 120 day trip there are probably less than 20 kids in total so it's a very calm and sedate journey in that respect

Enjoy the cruise it sounds fantastic. Be careful in Barcelona day or night it’s got a shocking reputation. As mentioned by others it will be great to see other locations as your cruise progresses

We walked the gothic quarter late last night.lots of people loads of students around lots of shady types too and then girls on their own wandering home or wherever. Surprisingly a lot of American kids here.

Of course us as stupid tourists stand out like sore thumbs so our chances of bad stuff increases exponentially on that basis so you're advice is correct

It's an errie beautiful place if you let it get to you and become too scared to go out but yes you're 100% correct wander down the wrong side street
although street is a bit strong most are about 6 foot wide and your evening would take a turn for the worst

Hotel plain basic but clean and tidy right in the centre of the gothic quarter.

I am wondering how much weight one puts on on a trip like that. Enjoy!

Looking forward to follow your adventures! Just got home last night from a 3 week cruise which was fabulous.
We’re doing a 3 month cruise in early ‘26 and can’t wait!

The Howells took way more than that and they were only planning on being out for three hours.

Safe and happy travels

They say that you go on as passengers and come off as cargo.

Sounds like an awesome trip. Keep the updates coming.

Curious to hear your thoughts after you get back. We are considering something similar.

I've taken MSC a few times in the U.S. and itinerary changes seem to be the norm for that company.
