BNIB 116622 YM w/ Platinum Dial at AD
One of the ADs in my area has a BNIB 116622 Yacht-Master with the Platinum Dial and is willing to sell it to me at $10k plus tax.
I know it was never a popular watch, but I always liked it. At $10k, it's intriguing. Should I pull the trigger? |

If you want it, and willing to pay that, sure. I have a blue dial and love it. That said, you acknowledge it "was never a popular watch", and I agree. Therefore, if you flip you will likely loose and these can be had at good prices on the secondary market for less than 10K. Great watch, the wife has that dial, and if you know it's a keeper - go for it. Case is slimmer than a Sub and it wears well.

Platinum Dial typically sells for a discount $9500 BNIB.
You can get Blue dial BNIB for $9900 delivered...so $10,000 would be just a bit over market...so keep working on the AD for $9500-$9600 |

The YM is an underrated watch...very nice in person and not a lot of people have them. Buy the watch for yourself and if you like it...not on someone else's opinion.

They’re beautiful watches for sure. Very unique. I’d say work the AD a little harder. He’ll sell it to you for a bit less, I’m certain.
Here’s mine. |

Not popular = fewer out there =possible FUTURE desirability. Funny thing about this reference is that many folks seem to like it and sing it's praises aesthetically. Then they don't buy it because of it's reputation as not being popular.I love mine and wouldn't think of selling it. I'm guilty of being biased. |
