BLNR in England?

Hey all,

I'm a the hunt for a BLNR in England. My wife wants to buy me a Rolex for our wedding present, and it would make it all the more special if I could actually have it on the day of. I've been calling all around London(where I'm located) trying to track one down, but to no avail. One salesman even laughed when I asked and told me not to waste my time.

Well little did he know, I'm over in the country alone so I have way too much time on my hands. With that said - I'm willing to travel anywhere to get my hands on one. Does anyone know of a local AD that might have one or be getting one soon?

I've got about 2 weeks until I head back to the states to get married, so finding a new one to get the VAT refund is important.

Thanks everyone!

Look on chrono24 but I think all are at premiums now, or you can even fly over to EU ADs if you have time. Call them all.

Just letting you know.. In London even a SS reg gmt is hard to find and pretty sure it won't even be in the display. So for a blnr ... It will be very hard.
Most ad in London don't even have a display for SS professional models.
It's almost like its missing a part of the store but it's normal for them ..for now.
You will see a lot of DJ and pm models

Call Goldsmiths as they're one of the biggest chains, they might be able to call their other stores and reserve one ( if you're lucky).

Good luck with the watch & wedding ;)

You'll most likely only be able to buy second hand or gray dealer.
In the above case you won't be able to reclaim vat.
As a guide a secondary dealer in the City (London) had a 15 month old BLNR up for £7k yesterday. I went in today and it was already sold for "just under".. Consider he'd already rejected a £6,700 offer and you can assume c 6.85k
You're best buying from the states

Hi Pete

Where are you staying in London? I was in Watchfinder today, Royal Exchange by Bank station and they have a BLNR BNIB but you will have to pay £7450 (they will take £7350) believe me you won't find one RRP at an AD in this country now.

So, if ones reside in Norway and want to sell a BLNR in the UK; what is the best way of doing that? eBay?

Just found the thread theorizing that ADs are holding back SS sport models for an anticipated price hike in the UK.

Do you think I'd have better luck finding one from an AD in Paris? I might be able to finagle a business trip down there and pick one up. I'm hoping that the scarcity it simply due to the weakness of the pound post-Brexit vote

With relentless persistence you should find one in the UK. That would mean ringing through the Rolex AD list at least once during the day and again in the evening to check for availability. That being said, I don't think it's a particularly good way of spending time abroad. Don't forget to enjoy the country's finest fish and chips.

Put your phone on speaker and enjoy fish and chips, shepherd's pie, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, Cornish Pasties, sticky toffee pudding...

As I said, ring EU ADs, esp in Italy and Germany, the ones here expect a price rise and won't sell before it.

Ireland looks like it could be worth investigating given the proximity to the UK

(all these prices are excluding tax - I'm assuming they do a tourist refund scheme there).

I honestly think the original salesman gave you good advice when he said don't waste your time. I would bet my house on you not finding one at current msrp at an AD in the UK in the next two weeks.
As you want the Tax back then it's definitely going to be a hunt around Europe.

Good luck with it, and enjoy your wedding

Ha, anywhere near the coast is generally better as it's fresh. If your in London try to go to places that get their fish from Billingsgate market or google best ones in london

Been trying to find a BLNR for months, no luck. On a few waiting lists locally so just deciding to sit tight, certainly not paying over retail.
