Local Singapore AD had the guts to do this - What a joke

It's just sad to see this happening. Marketing stunt?
Watch for display purposes. What's the point of it?
in Singapore

what you guys think about this?

What’s the point of being in business then?

Let’s just show everyone what we can’t get for them.....

Pretty weak IMHO

Ask em if they’re fake, when they likely say no, then why aren’t they for sale?

kinda looks like that white dial daytona is for sale the way the sigs are placed lol.

ok, obviously it's not, but for real, I don't see what the big deal is. I've met reps at ADs that straight up told me they haven't had a BLNR or Hulk in a year, and then found out later on they had 3 of each in the safe.

I'll take honestly over lies and games, even if it means "look but don't touch". Those watches aren't for sale, but at least you get to have a peak at them.

Is there an entry fee for this AD? I'm sure it'll be good side business!!

Exclusive: Checkout the rare and impossible to get Rolex SS watches for only $10 entry fee per person!

Note: No touching, only watching from behind the glass.

Prefer a no-sale in the case rather then hidden in the back. Allows you the opportunity to actually see the watch before being denied the opportunity to join the waiting list

In all seriousness it does allow you to see the watch, maybe even handle it and make a decision on whether or not to go with a grey dealer.

At least you get to see and try the watch on (I would think).

I'm sure if you offered to buy the diamond encrusted Pearlmaster they have in another case, some of them would magically become available for sale.

Singapore ADs used to charge "market prices" for new Rolex watches a couple of years ago, although that may have changed. If someone wanted to buy a new 116500 at the "market price", might as well get it from an AD rather than a gray dealer.

At least they have placards out saying outright they aren't for sale. I have heard a few worse stories here (I recall someone posting a story about an AD in Italy) where a hard-to-get watch is just sitting in the display window visible from the street. After walking in and inquiring about purchase, potential customer gets told that watch is not for sale (unless it involves some significant bundling).

Either way, this has to be pretty bad form from Rolex's perspective. It's one thing for this problem to exist, it's another to be so blatantly rubbing it in customers' faces.

Sure it's stupid but on another level I don't mind it. I had to go to 8 ADs before I even saw my first ceramic Daytona. Sort of nice to actually be able to see some of the watches that newer fans haven't ever had any opportunity to see. I get it that it sucks to be sitting right there and you can't have it, but at least you can see it in the flesh (I hope they let people at least try them on).

Yup, agreed. It's just motivation for a potential buyer willing to bundle

Nice to see them on display even if they’re not for sale. Ideally all AD’s should carry a dummy watch for display if they don’t have a genuine working reference.

This is going too far and I can't believe Rolex would condone this practice which is spitting in the face of customers. Keep them hidden out the back if you must but to brazenly put these out is showing contempt.

Agreed

Also, you know it's bad when even the Air King isn't available. Wow

just shows that they do have the stock but they ain't selling.

bloody pointless i feel.

i heard that they do that so potential customer can take a look at the elusive sports model before making a purchase (as if they're going to sell it)

as far as i know

you need to spend at least 100k at their AD (buying a mixture of brands) and they will put you in a real waiting list for a daytona ceramic (within 6 months)

for hulk you need at least 50k.

lol jokers

I will go against the grain here and say that I like this. At least you get to see a watch before ordering it to know you like it
