My sister is a Liverpool fan so I would like them to win, and they are making a fight of it this time, Man City will push them to the edge but Liverpool just might have the guts to win it this year.

I will speculate that this a dealer with a big ‘H’ and a big ‘G’ - imo they have the worst service in singapore and behave like a bunch of twats. Something that hasn’t changed since 2008. I’m more than happy to have moved on and build more meaningful relationships elsewhere.

Everyone saying it’s good because you can try them on before you decide to order?!

Where can you order them? Please let me know!

They are for sale just not to you and not for the price you want to pay!

I think this is good customer service, actually. Better than an empty case.
Wishful thinking that they will let the average Joe who tried one on ‘place an order’.

If you want to try one on there are hundreds of greys out there you can walk into a and try one on. Yes you pay double RRP, however at least you don’t need to spend £50k+ in order to get access to an RRP one

It’s rigged either way.

Aaah, okay, understood....

Terrible system.

But, at least I'd get to see a Daytona, Pepsi or CHNR.

Glancing through this thread, I see that different ADs here in Singapore are setting up these “Not for Sale” displays. Could it be that they are being instructed to do this by Rolex themselves?

Yeah, all of a sudden they all seem to be doing it.

I thought it was just my AD doing it when I dropped by last week, but it was fun trying all of them on, and my rep was very patient.

I agree for myself as I buy from AD but I assume a lot of people buying grey wouldn't mind trying them on.

This is also a standard sales tactic to get people into your stores, so I assume this is one way of Rolex trying to get people back in the shops where they :

1) Either buy something else,
2) Get an incentive not to buy grey as Rolex is prepping to reduce waiting lists and the AD would inform you about waiting times and such,
3) Improve the service from the AD - nothing worse than an empty showcase to scare people into not coming back.

So, all in all, I think this is positive indeed.

ok, obviously it's not, but for real, I don't see what the big deal is. I've met reps at ADs that straight up told me they haven't had a BLNR or Hulk in a year, and then found out later on they had 3 of each in the safe.

Someone in the real world kindly explain this to me. High demand or not I would rather move inventory ASAP than hold onto anything. If I was an AD I would sell to anyone willing to pay regardless of who they were. It’s moronic.

I think it’s a great idea and wish all ADs would do this . Like others have said it allows you to see the watch , try it on, and decide if it’s for you. If you like, then you either get your name on a wait list or go grey. It’s better than an AD having no watches or having them sitting in the back in a safe. As for why the ones in the OP’s pics aren’t for sale, who cares . Maybe they’ve been promised to a current client, maybe they are the part of the owner’s / staffs personal collection, Maybe this store got their hands on dummy watches (without movements).

Couldn't agree more. You make very valid points and like others I would really appreciate finally getting to view, touch and hopefully try on a Daytona. I might find out that I totally detest it and then I can move on with my life haha.

Yes, even RSC at Tong building have the Sport models on display with a price tag at the side and then a not for sale sign.

I like your thinking. Glass half empty kind of thing. There’s always an upside to any situation, depending on your point of view.

They weren’t caught. It was an accepted practice, until the policy changed around two and some years ago.

Bummer, I had this wad of cash in my hand for no reason then. And I think there's two of them I like. Oh well, take care. I'll save a few percent then with the grey dealer.

When are people going to learn.. ROLEX DOESN’T CARE. The dealers are running the show and Rolex doesn’t care anymore.
