Rubber B Swimskin for Panerai

Anyone use the Rubber B swimskin band (any finish) for their Panerai? How does it look?

I've seen the alligator one. It looks just like an OEM Panerai but its all rubber. I had to tell my friend to let me try on his watch and its pretty wild. All the little lines and grooves of natural gator are there but its all rubber. I really liked the concept when it came out on blogtowatch, I don't know if they make it for other than Panerai.

Im not going to lie, I was skeptical to get this for the 684. The band feels great and looks better than the oem in my opinion. It really looks like an alligator band. I ordered the "rubber kevlar" last week and completely changed the look. Its very impressive how these materials have been replicated in rubber.

Wow, jenkinscc. These are the first photos I saw other than the manufacturer photos. thank you very much. They look awesome, plus you can now take the watch w faux alligator band for a swim (as the brand implies). In the ablogtowatch review link provided by alex, they also mentioned they will release the swimskin line for select Rolex models.

Nice photos, thanks. That “Kevlar” model looks really good!

As for the “leather”, my feeling is that it might be a little jarring to see leather but feel rubber? Hopefully I can see one in real life one day to be sure.

I'm digging the looks of these! The espresso rubber strap would look amazing on my 422. unfortunately, it appears these are only available for 42mm models.

Hopefully, they'll move production into the larger case sizes. I would definitely be a buyer.

Yes, I too came across their site earlier, they are gorgeous. Only wished if it was available for lesser.

Thanks! I really like it, when I was looking at "oro rosso" pieces it made sense. Above 42mm is just so massive. This size is a perfect balance for sport/elegant looks.

hi Jenkins,
thanks for the pics. i was interested in this strap as well.
Would you mind showing a side-profile pic of the strap to help illustrate thickness?

I had been thinking of mounting it on a Due (the only 42mm Pam I have). but the Due OEM gator is quite thin; less padding than the conventional Pam straps. so wondering if this swimskin is correspondingly thin (thick) or not.

I think width is perfect, definitely not as bulky as the OEM rubber. I switched it back to the "gator" yesterday because because I have some meetings during the week but going back to the sporty look on Friday. Like I said, I was skeptical at first but now pulled the trigger on 2 of them. good luck!

The 684 is indeed a v nice watch. Now I am intrigued by the upcoming SS 42mm submersibles for 2019 - pam683, pam959, pam960.

Read about the movement first (for the new 42mm sub) before you decide

682,684 use P90xx while the new 42mms are using movt from Richemont’s stable

The main difference is quickset hour vs quickset date

The RubberB gator looks good.
Do the keepers stay in place, or slide around?
I hate it when a keeper slips and the tail of the strap then isn’t held in place properly.

No issues to report with the keepers.

looking forward to seeing them! I’m strongly considering the green ballistic for my 682.

I think the green looks amazing. It actually was sold out when I ordered my black.

does anyone know how often they restock these? looks like they’re pretty much all sold out at the moment. also, the non-black colors now appear to have black lining on the sides of the straps—does anyone think that would look weird? I’m thinking the black would have to be the move for that reason...

Very good question (I don’t know) as I would like to add the green. I like the black side lining and stitching and think it would work well with the black face in most PAMs.

Popped in to RubberB’s site this weekend and the green ballistic was back in stock and I ordered one. Will post pics once it gets here.
