Yes, the 50mm f/1.4 is quite nice and sharp. I use mine for mostly indoors since my zooms are my outdoor lenses.

Very nice photos, as you say very sharp definition.
I suppose you have something like a D80 Nikon body? I would love to the the new Nikon 2.8 VR micro lens for watch photos. Anyway, my main problem is the size of these cameras, too heavy and too bulky, given that I'm used to my Casio that is the size of a packet of cigarettes.

I use a D70s, way less expensive than a D80... On a tripod with a speedlight it would take awesome watch pictures.
