One thing to keep in mind: close-up wrist shots overstate the size of the watch. It's better to see a shot from 3-4 ft away, makes it easier to judge. Having said that, I do agree that some people definitely seem to like watches to wear very very large as evidenced by responses in some threads.

yeah i think most of us take that into account when saying a watch looks good. I know my wrist shots look large, but I'm 6'5 with 7 1/4 to 7 1/2 inch wrists so my watches don't look anywhere near what they look like in wristies as far as size. So i look at any wrist shot and mentally adjust for what i think the distortion is. Not an exact science though.

No, it’s still on the AP website under current collection.

I find the 15400 quite big on the wrist. I would definitely buy the 15450 over the 15400 given the choice.

I smile when I read threads asking whether watches fit? They are usually accompanied by photographs of watches truly swamping the wrist. Most replies encourage the purchase and tell them that it fits when (to my eye it is not even close to being a good fit) it doesn't.
For 40+ years the CEOs big watch of choice was the very manly (and large) 36mm Day Date!
Seriously. One sees this a lot, and just read one on the PP forum. Everyone chimed in suggesting the watch looked great, and it fitted well. The watch looked like a dinner plate on the guy's wrist.

nothing wrong with the size at all. i’ve got a 15400, 15202 and 15450. better to go a little small than too large.

Good choice, although i find the 41mm suiting for me, i can see the 450 works well for you. Now you also can check out the new 38mm chrono's if you're looking to add a function to your royal oak in the future

It is none of what I feared it would be. It is not too small and bracelet fit was amazing. It wears almost like my 39mm explorer 1. So you folks who has been considering this size but had fears and concerns, dont worry. This 15450 is a timeless piece done right. Unless of course you’re 7 foot tall with 7” wrist. But yea I’ll post some pics that hopefully might enable some of you to grab one too.
Makes sense the 15450 fits your wrist. Its the right choice for a <'6.5 wrist but please do not say it wears close to an explorer because it wears a lot smaller. This comparison keeps coming back and it was the reason i bought the 15450 as many said the same. I have "7+inch wrist and i love 40mm pre-ceramics, explorer and daytonas

But the 15450 wears small . Maybe the case wears like a 38/39 but the dial is so small it actualy looks smaller on my wrist then a DJ 36. Close-up its not that bad (as many pics posted here are close-up) but from a distance it totaly disappears on the/my wrist and looks like i'm wearing my wife's watch. Again, i do not like big watches, i love my 40mm daytona/explorer/14060m size but the 15450 is way to small for me and i would recommend only for guys with small<6.5 wrists

I own a 15450 and a 15400 and my rule of thumb for the Royal Oak would be:
<'6.5: 15450
>'6.5: 15300/15202
>'7.25: 15400

See pic below with my explorer/daytona/15450 and pay attention to the dial to see its actualy a lot smaller.

actually from your picture it really look very close to the explorer I. Which I had and really liked. Also I had the 15300 which i mentioned the bracelet did not wrap the wrist nicely.

I think in your case the width of the bracelet is what makes it seem small compared to the regular 20mm rolex oyster bracelet.

Also now that a 38mm chrono is available.... 😅

No, you are looking at the case. Now look at the dial to see the difference and why i Always say the 15450 wears realy small. I love my exp1. Its the perfect size for the type of watch and for my '7+ wrist.

Dont get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with the 15450 if you have small <6.5 wrists. But if larger you should look at the 15300/15202/15400/500

Dont let close-ups fool you. See my 2 pics in this thread: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=669739
