Decision time! Help needed!

Hi All,

I am in the process of purchasing my first house, therefore I need to liquidate some money to help and have decided to sell my two Rolex’s, my 116520 Daytona and 16610 Sub.

In doing so I need to replace both watches with one... here lies my problem.

To give you some background info, I have had in the past, a 116233 and 116610LV along side these current two watches.

I am torn between the following (baring in mind this will now be my only watch in collection for the next couple of years minimum):

116613LB
116710BLNR
116622 Rhodium Dial

I love all of them for different reasons but am torn between them.

Also something to mention; I would have to pay over list for the BLNR but under for both the others.

Your help and advice is greatly appreciated!

C.

Tough choice between the bluesy and the BLNR for me. I go back and forth between those (love the blue dial but sometimes not in love with the two tone), so I'd probably have to flip a coin in the end. I think the BLNR is more versatile because of its black dial, but that blue sunburst dial is beautiful.

Also, I know many will disagree, but after owning the BLNR for a while and having owned the Sub 116610LN for many years, after a while the BLNR didn't seem "that" much different from the black Sub even though half the bezel is blue and it has a blue GMT hand. It's difficult to explain, but I just don't think they are "that" different from one another from a color/looks perspective. I do like the cleaner bezels of the Subs over GMT. JMO.

why don't you keep one of your watch instead of getting rid of both of them and buy a new one?

Because the sub won’t release enough money for the house selling on own and i don’t want to just wear the sub if I sell Daytona as it’s 1994 so too old for a daily wearer and will need service work soon enough.

If there can only be one, then it's going to be the bluesy for me. One of, if not the greatest watch ever made, IMO.

There's a 2016 BLNR in as new condition for sale in a bricks and mortar grey I use for £7,300 (if you're quick).

PM if you'd like details

Personally I would keep the Sub and sell the Daytona. If you don't want to wear a watch that old, I would sell both but replace with a newer SS Sub.

ok. Then I will get BLNR. Not a fan of two tone blue (black is fine) and not a fan of YM.

The BLNR is more versatile, but the 116613LB is so spectacular. The contrast between the metals and the dial, is so lively and dynamic. It is up to you, if you feel comfortable wearing a watch with such a strong wrist presence in all situations. I would pick it up in a heart beat

Decision time! Help needed!

For me the LV is the winner; the 116622 would be if it had the blue dial. Never been fond of the black and blue combo.

I think I’m going to be alone here, but I really like the 116622 Rhodium. I’m not a fan of two tone and I, like has been already mentioned, don’t find the BLNR that different. The rhodium dial with the blue second sweep is a really sexy watch.

For just one watch the BLNR gets my vote to be it. Totally get what you mean about having the older ones as daily use watches. They're fine and totally capable of it but no doubt the updated versions provide some benefits.
