Incoming 1968 Hamilton Intra-Matic Auto Chronograph

Landed at my office 30 minutes ago. Treated myself to this. Got a great deal. Bought a custom black handmade leather strap with cream colored stitching on its way. Very nice and wears comfortably on the wrist. Nice box. A little tool to change the date by pressing a recessed button on the side of the case. Sort of an impulse purchase.

About the movement: https://watchbase.com/hamilton/caliber/h-31

Hamilton caliber H-31
Base: ETA 7753
Movement: Automatic
Display: Analog
Diameter: 30.00
Jewels: 27
Reserve: 60
Frequency: 28800

Description

The Hamilton H-31 is based on the Valjoux 7753. The H-21 is similar though based on the 7750. These movements most notable change compared to the standard version is the 60 hour power reserve.

The following elements have been modified:

- The entire kinematic chain has been refined, from the barrel to the escapement
- The escapement regulator has been suppressed, facilitating optimal reliability and precision
- The main spring has been improved to increase a typical power reserve of 60 hours.
- The mono-block rotor is distinctively skeletonized with an “H” shape and aviation-inspired cut-outs, a signature of individualization.

The watch box alone is better than most of the boxes from expensive brands ;-) Love Hamilton--the brand drew me into watches.

Incoming 1968 Hamilton Intra-Matic Auto Chronograph

Thanks fellas I’m really enjoying it. It has some heft but not too big on the wrist. Looking forward to the strap to complete the look although the one that came with it isn't bad. Nice signed buckle. I already removed it!

You can see it’s almost midnight and it’s starting to creep into the next day. Will see where it is at midnight.

Quick lume shot. Double indicator at 12:00.

EDIT: OK, it changed one minute before midnight.

Love that! Thanks for posting. I may have to stop in at my local dealer and see if one is around.

Congratulations. I really like this watch and the new blue dial version is strong also. My AD has one, but I have four watches inbound from Basel 19 and just picked up the Tudor Black Bay Bronze Grey so I will wait.

Hi guys. Thanks again for the compliments. I bought a custom handmade leather strap with off white stitching from Jack Foster

I really like the styling of it, but I keep telling myself ... "I don't need another watch, I don't need another watch ... "

What does that have to do with it?

That's a fantastic looking watch. I should not have looked at this thread. My "short list" just got a little longer.

Ha! Me, too, exactly! I was eyeballing a pretty nice price on a pre-owned one the other day, and I had to control my impulsiveness

Bumping this thread to say I'm excited to have one of these cool chronographs on its way to me now. I handled it at my local dealer's counter last week, and then one turned up for a fair price on the sales corner of another forum, so I pounced. I'll report back after it arrives in a few days. Cheers!
